I have taken bus tours, bike tours and boat tours in Chicago but this is by far the best tour I have ever taken. There is no better way to spend a beautiful day than to leisurely walk some of the most premiere neighborhoods Chicago has to offer. The food tastings were spectacular and very unique. Plus, it was more... more

Took the tour on 8/6/08 with guide emily. Had a great time. Learned alot about site in three chicago neighborhoods. Playboy mansion, Oz park, Cabbage patch, etc. Our hotel was pretty close to the Michigan Ave shopping distract and it was nice to get away from that mess. Browsed several amazing shops. Oil and Vinegar and Spice shop were my... more

My husband and I took the tour July 17, 2008. The day was hot and humid. Emily, the guide, made the tour enjoyable. She was well-informed, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the tour. The best food was Bacino Pizza and the most filling. Although I did enjoy the oil and spice shops, I don't think the Food Tour name represents the... more

We took the Chicago Food Planet , Food Tasting Tour on July 23, 2008. The day was perfect – about 75 degrees and sunny. Emily, our guide, was also excellent. She was knowledgeable and upbeat. She was able to keep 14 people together and entertained for the 3 ½ hour tour – an impressive skill. The various tasting locations were... more

It's the "food" part of the "Planet Food" Tour that's deceiving: there's very little food offered on this tour. So, take the tour, but understand that you're going to get half a greasy potato pancake at the first stop, some tiny cheese wedges and crackers from a caterer's shop, a slice of pizza at tour's end, and three pieces of... more

We would say that the walking tour was really nice, it was such a beautiful day. We would like to have a food tour with more food and foods that are special to the area. It was rather expensive for the little bit that you got. The pizza was good and filling, but we had to eat it so fast... more

The Chicago Food Planet Tour was above expectations. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and an Illinois native. The walk can get a bit long in the hot sun, but worth it. We had a chance to taste some local food and visit smaller shops. The pizza we had on the tour was better than the usual deep dish that... more

The food tour of Chicago is a great way to experience Chicago. A walking tour taking you to places you might not find yourself. The stops for sampling the food are great in combination with a superb guide giving you insights to the city and the areas around Lincoln Park. Do the tour early so you have time to re-visit... more

We thought this would be a great intro to other Chicago neighbourhoods and some good food too. We were nowhere near right - it was much better than that! We were met at the first venue by Jennifer who was full of information on the food and the area. She led us through a range of food including a deli,... more

What a fabulous concept - walking (gentle pace), sightseeing, history, architecture, local gossip - and food! I thoroughly endorse all the other rave reviews on this site. You'll be virtually guaranteed to get ideas of places to go back to or visit after the tour so plan on doing it early in your trip to Chicago! One caveat - I... more
