We took our 2 year old and 6 year old to the Field Museum. We parked down on Adams in a parking garage and walked through Grant Park on the way to the Museum. Here is my review of the exhibits we paid to see. Water - NOT worth it for kids. There is nothing in there for them to... more

I visited the Field with my 13 year old son. We had a nice time and actually saw all three floors in only a few hours. The exhibits were very interesting. Suprisingly, we enjoyed the huge selection of preserved animals the most. They have a specimen of almost every animal created! We didn't dawdle but kept moving and kept it... more

The Field Museum is a wonderful place to take children. You can have a great experience for adults as well. It includes all aspects of history from multiple cultures of the world. My favorite exhibit was the Ancient Americans. The entrance to it is a stunning video projection of mammoths that makes you feel like you really are in "ancient... more

Seeing "Sue" the T-rex was definitely a highlight, but there are lots of neat things to see here! Some of the exhibits seem a little old fashioned, but there are plenty of others which are modern and fun with lots of interactivity. Our favorite was the Real Pirates exhibit! If you get a chance to visit while this exhibit is... more

Awesome museum- lots to see here! Great location and very impressive area. More parking would be a good idea (be prepared to pay $16) and the line to pay was short but painfully slow- a quicker system needs to be found and implemented. Contrary to other reviewer(s) I found the staff to be courteous and helpful. more

Lots to see and do; additional fees for "special" exhibits can really run the cost up; Beautiful museum and laid out well. Good lunch at Corner Bakery--much better than most. Lots of school groups, but as long as you stayed away from the areas where they were, it didn't bother me. Of all the Chicago museums on the City Pass,... more

Having been to this museum both as a kid and as an adult the exhibits, in their own way rival the Natural History Museum in New York, the Smithsonian in DC ,or the British Museum in London. Like all great museums, each has its own focus. An afficionado of any of the worlds great museums will find something of interest... more

Our main aim for our Chicago stopover (between Amtrak journeys) was to visit the Field Museum. We are sooo glad we did. It is brilliant, so much to see. We spent a second day there, after checking out and leaving our cases at the Essex Inn, as our train did not leave until evening. Did the huge 'earth timeline' exhibit... more

We loved the Field Museum! We purchased the Double Decker/Trolley pass and used that as transportation, drops you right off at the front door. We purchased the City Pass for Chicago which included a pass to the Field Museum. The extra bonus of this was not having to wait in the VERY long line. The lobby is wonderful, the museum... more
