The United Center is a nice arena for a sports event. And as far as this arena being in "the hood" as someone suggested? The immediate area around the stadium is fine and there are lots of cops around when there is a game. I wouldn't go for a 1/2 mile sightseeing hike though. Although many of the nearby areas... more

Ok, so our seats were in Section 314, second row from the top, for $99 a seat I thought we might have something better. The seats up there are BRUTAL, so tight with the seats in front that my knee ached, and there is no elbow room at all. Please see my blog at http://talesfromtheroad-mwalno.blogspot.com/ Its a good thing they... more

Sorry didnt go inside this place. I only went to see the statue. Yeah this is a area that isnt downtown it did appear to be in the ghetto part. We went there during the early morning hours after a hop on and off tour to Oprah's store. So we took a bus to this place to take pictures with... more

We saw the Sharks play the Blackhawks, and not only was the game excellent (6-5 OT/SO...Blackhawks won), but the fans are insanely into hockey. The United Center is not in the best part of town (then again, what arena is in a stellar part of town?), but there are so many people walking, driving and catching taxis after the game... more

This arena is very big and in excellent condition! I saw Madonna here on 10/26/08 and it was great! Some other reviews said that the area was not good. I have to disagree! The area was fine. I was very worried after reading the reviews about walking, but I have to say I felt comfortable. This was my first time... more

A nice place to see a game or concert with pretty comfy seating and very easy to navigate. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the greatest so a quick in and out is the best bet. Eat beforehand as the food & drink prices will cost almost as much as your ticket. positives: good sightlines for games and concerts, nice amenities, good... more

I was very impressed with the facility very easily excessible by bus or cab. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza on West Madison cab ride is 5 dollars. Not suggested to walk in these areas back to your hotel take a cab or bus. This area use to be the projects but Oprah Winfrey has dedicated time and money to cleaning... more

Out of towner in to watch a Blackhawks hockey game. This is a nice arena. Very nice concourse lots of bathrooms and concession stands. Very spacious arena. Pretty great sight lines to the games, though if you sit in the upper deck you are pretty high. Now the bad part, the stadium is in the middle of nowhere. It is... more

Not quite the same as the old Chicago Stadium, but still better than most. A surprisingly good selection of bars/restaurants within walking distance (towards downtown/The Loop). Best atmosphere is for Blackhawks games; Bulls' tend to be more low-key. more

The United Center is in the hood. You better bring your knives and guns if you plan to be anywhere near this slum. This is not an exaggeration. There is a liquor store across the street from the place and many thugs hanging out on the street holding 40 ouncers. Many police cars were circling the block, but being from... more
