We very much enjoyed the zoo. How nice that it is free! The penguins were a favorite, along with the large cats and the ape exhibit. We went during the week when it wasn't crowded. They are currently building a boardwalk on the south side of the park - no noise or closures of current exhibits, but we look forward... more

My kids and I really enjoyed this zoo. It's clean and well-maintained, and you certainly can't beat the price! I could have skipped the petting zoo, but the rest was great. Especially don't miss the apes & monkeys! They all have great personality and are very entertaining! more

If you wantt o get away from the noise and craziness of the city, go to the FREE Zoo! It is really nice! The gardens are spectacular and the walks are wonderful to stroll through. We went during the week so it was not crowded at all. The sealions are fun to watch. They have bleachers to see them. I... more

My husband and I go to the zoo on a regular basis. It is a nice and quiet getaway from the city. It is nice free activity. Do not miss the African Exhibit you get up close and personal with meerkats, Graffias, Pygmy Hippo and more. It is just a great little zoo and I would recommend it to anyone. more

The Lincoln Park Zoo is a great place for a family outing. It is fairly large so you can easily spend the day there. There is a park outside the zoo and places inside the zoo that you can sit and have a picnic. There's lots to see and do at this zoo. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.... more

One of the last free city zoos in the United States, Lincoln Park Zoo is a great economical family attraction. Zoo enthusiasts might find it to be small and a little plain, but its not a bad way to burn a few hours. Highlights are the polar bears, bears, big cats, and primates. Aside from that, the other exhibits are... more

This is not a huge zoo, but it is very well curated and continuously upgraded. It is particularly known for its gorilla breeding program but all exhibits are first rate. The only unfortunate thing about it is that tourists cannot reach it directly via rapid transit. If you are in Chicago at the holiday season, don't miss the Christmas light... more

We took the #22 bus from Marina City for $2 each. The zoo is free. We stopped first in the Conservatory which was really beautiful & well maintained. A section of it was being decorated & was not open to the public, but when we told one of the staff that we were from out of town she let us... more
