We went specifically to see the Harry Potter Exhibit. We were not disappointed. It contained many of the costumes and props from the movie. Great care was taken to display these in interesting settings. Gift shop prices were high, but what can you expect. The Exhibit was $13.00 and General Admission to the museum was $13.00 for a total of... more

This is a must see for anyone visiting Chicago. Definitely a big bang for your buck. We paid the same price to visit the aquarium (which is also great), but only spent a few hours there compared to 5 hours at Science and Industry and still didn't see everything! The kids (ages 5 & 8) loved the place as well... more

I went with two girlfriends to Chicago, pretty much just to experience the Harry Potter Exhibition running now through the Fall at the Museum of Science and Industry. We are big HP fans and enjoyed the exhibit SO much! We walked through the whole thing once, which took us about an hour, and then before leaving we walked back through... more

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is large and does a great job of making technology exciting. If you are visiting Chicago, it is well worth a look and will be different from your experiences in other cities. more

Visited over spring break with our two grade school aged children (8 & 10). The highlight for me was the U-Boat tour - really, just over the top. I'm still in awe. I've worked in coal, transport & oil and found all those exhibits to be very true to life and presented so all ages will enjoy & appreciate w/o... more

Tons of stuff to see here - definitely devote a whole day to this museum! Lots of neat, modern and interactive science and technology related exhibits. The U505 sub was extremely interesting and definitely worth spending some extra time there. Take your time and check out all this place has to offer! more

Good museum and very interesting. I still love the fairy castle--my favorite exhibit of all time. The space section is really good too--I loved reliving the Apollo series and landing on the moon. more

Unless you are driving, this museum is not "minutes from downtownChicago" as advertised. We had bought tickets online and didn't have an adequate map to get there. Be sure you don't make the same mistake we did and end up in a bad neighborhood after taking the bus for an hour and still having to walk 1.5 miles to it.... more

It has always been my favorite museum since I was a kid and now my kids enjoy it. By now some of the exhibits on the upper floors are showing their age, but it looks like major revisions are in the works. The special traveling exhibits keep the musem fresh, but the U-505, coal mine, train story, and Idea factory... more

First off, something needs to be said about the neighborhood. I notice other reviewers say its "horrible". I need to tell you that its not. It sounds like some people just aren't used to being around black people. Its perfectly safe to visit the MSI-- there are much more dangerous places in Chicago. But now about the museum itself: it... more
