Wow, they have a little bit of every part of daily life here. Have your kids been contimplating what they want to be when they grow up? If so, come learn a little more about various professions here: firemen, farming, plumbing, energy, space, engineering & more. This museum covers alot! Very interesting and fun. more

During our Chicago vacation, we went to several museums. This was my favorite. The place is HUGE. We were there for five hours and still did not see everything. It was fun and educational. We even got to see real baby chicks being born. That was very neat. more

Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry is a great place for families with kids of all ages to spend a day. It is colorful, noisy, exciting and not only full of ideas but full of people, too. Bring plenty of cash. There is a food court and several very nice gift shops and there are some side events that require... more

So, I'd remembered as a wee lad visiting Chicago, cheering on my Cubbies, some huge buildings, and the Museum of Science and Industry. 13 Years later at the age of 26 now, I wanted to return to this attraction which had given me such great memories as a child. A little fearful as hoping that the experience wouldn't be like... more

If you have kids of any age and are visiting Chicago, do NOT miss this museum!! We went primarily for the Harry Potter Exhibit, but ended up staying the entire day! Do note: my AAA guide said to allow 3 hours. We arrived close to the open time and stayed until it closed, and could still have spent more time... more

The Museum of Science and Industry was OK, the Harry Potter exhibit was good (extra charge), but they seem to be more interested in extracting money than anything. Two examples: (1) Coming back up from the U505 (extra charge, of course), an employee blocked our way and told us it would be better if we took a side route. This... more

Planed to stay 3-4 hours, ended up staying the whole day and did not managed to see all we wanted. Very nice museum! Follow John the Miner and learn about mining, really cool and he was brilliant, the fact that he also had been working as a miner made it even better. The U-505 is a must see, great history... more

We got there shortly after it opened. Got to see everything without crowds. The only crowd was in the cafeteria around 1 o'clock. This attraction was very fun and informative. My son loved the dinosaurs even though he's outgrown them. more

I read an earlier review complaining about taking the green line to this museum. If you go to google maps, click on directions from your hotel to the museum, you will get driving directions. If you look to the left, you will see a pull down menu that initially says "by car." If you click on it you will see... more

We really enjoyed the museum, even though there was a lot of extra charges. The kids stuff was a little beyond our (almost) 3 year old but she still had fun. Final note: Don't try to take the greenline to the museum. Some maps make it look like its only a few blocks. Trust me, those aren't blocks you want... more
