Went here in February so it was covered in snow but it was still a great time and very lovely. Lots to see! more
Millennium Park offers a fantastic example of public art and open space against two terrific backdrops – the natural Lake Michigan and the man-made street wall of Michigan Avenue. The lighted Crown Fountain sculpture of faces and fountains is loved by kids, though the water features are turned off in the fall which detracts from the overall impression of the... more
I was in Chicago this past weekend visiting a friend and went to check out Millennium Park. I wasn't sure what to expect - I just heard that I had to visit it. It's a lovely city park, right smack in the downtown of Chicago. Most certainly not as large as New York's Central Park, but it has its own... more
A great place for a respite from the city. There was a good band playing in the music pavilion when we visited here. Also the young people playing at the Crown Fountain were having a great time. The "cloud" sculpture provides a unique photo opportunity. If you are in the area or staying nearby, stop by as it is well... more
This is a wonderful park in the middle of the big city. It has bike riding available as well as a walking/running area. The scultures and fountains are nice also. You can get a guided tour provided by the chicago greeters. It starts at the visitor area. There are also free concerts in a wonderful concert area and a beautiful... more
I visited Millennium Park during the Taste of Chicago, which was taking place just a few blocks south on Columbus. While hundreds of thousands of people were trading tickets for samples less than a quarter-mile away --... more
Downtown Chicago....I ended up parking near the Shedd Aquarium for $20 for the day which worked out just great. From there it's about a 20 minute walk not to bad since it was sunny & hot when I went. It's pretty neat...music, entertainment, shopping & art all in the area. Amazing piece's of art work in a huge city it... more
I'll try to describe the attractions a little more in detail than the recent reviews. It's a relatively small park, semi-new, filled with attractions. It's centrally located, near the Art Institute, and it's much cooler than one would expect. Among the attractions: The "bean": I think it's actually called cloud sculpture. At first glance, it looks like a gigantic silver... more
A must see in Chicago on a beautiful day. Near the lake front on Michigan Ave it's centrally located in the City. A place to relax, listen to music, grab a bite to eat or people watch. You can take in the the famous bean, the fountain, the music pavillion or my favorite the bridge and its has a great... more
