As others reviewers have stated, save yourself some time and money and go to the lounge on 95th. There usually isn't a line if you get there before 5pm on a weekday, so you can get window seating. Yes, the drinks are a bit pricey...but at $10 for a Cosmo or martini, you just paid for your trip to the... more

The view is ok. Like in any high rise building. But the charge of 11 dollars was too much to my opinion. Even when you go to CN tower in Toronto you get more of your money worth. The access to the elevators is very unconvinient. The stuff is uncaring (they could at least smile). more

We visited during the holiday parade and tree lighting. We enjoyed the hancock much more than Sears. We also got to visit Santa at the same time!! Kids loved it and it really is the best view in town. more

The views here are great but when I went to get an audio tour guide ($4 normally but included in CityPass) I was asked for ID. I had none with me which led to an interesting altercation with the "jobsworth" on the desk who refused to let me have the guide as I had no passport or credit card on... more

I'm a pretty picky son of a gun, and I was not expecting much from the Hancock, but was pleasanly surprised. I had read the reviews that it is better than the Sears Tower, and now I understand why. The Sears Tower (103 floor observatory) allows you to go only 9 more floors up than the Hancock (94 fl observatpry),... more

Had a meal in the Signature Room, really impressive deco style and reaaly good food. It's at the high end price wise but the food is good and the views are just incredible. Best advice is go for a drink in the bar. Lots of Chicago high rollers are in restaurant trying to impress clients and what looked like private... more

If you are going to go up in a tall building while you are in Chicago, the views from Big John are the best. You are outside of the loop, and closer to the lakefront, so it gives you a better perspective. There are also some interesting historical presentations not only about the building, but about Chicago as well, and... more

If you are willing to pay $9.95 for adults and $7.75 for kids to go up, have a wonderful time. I personally would recommend visiting the Signature Lounge (located two floor higher than the observatory!). You can bring the kids and purchase a soda ($6) or for them which will be less than paying the admission for the Observatory. The... more
