We stayed five nights at the Hotel Monaco, opting out of the better chains, primarily basing our decision to stay on the reputation of the Kimpton Hotel chain and the Travel Advisor ranking. Even though we stayed during a convention--understandably there's little choice in rooms--, we would have expected better. We arrived at 12:30 PM and were shown two rooms... more

I had a wonderful time at the Hotel Monaco. Everything you would expect from a quality chain hotel with the feel of a small, boutique hotel. The rooms are richly decorated. Nothing bland. The window seats are fantastic. And check out their goldfish program. I've already recommended it to friends. more

Location is unbeatable! Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is beautifully decorated inside. Our room was showing a little bit of wear (wallpaper peeling in one place, floorboard scuffed in several places, shower made some annoying noise) I would definitely stay here again! (Hotel has valet parking...which they neglected to tell me was $40/day! That was a shocker on... more

The Monaco is friendly, stylish, clean and well located. Don't let the weird facade fool you- I was disappointed as we pulled up but inside is very well decorated and the staff could not have been nicer. The room was large with excellent furnishings, clean, and surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is located pretty much on a hectic corner in... more

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. The location is great, just a short walk to Michigan Ave. The rooms are HUGE! Biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Great decor and ambiance within the hotel. There is a wine hour between 5-6pm where all residents can make the most of free wine, snacks and... more

This was my first time in Chicago and wanted a hotel that was in a good location. This definitely fit the bill. I could walk to all the places I wanted to see - very close to Michigan Ave and the Magnificent Mile. About a 15 minute walk to the Art Institute. The hotel staff was very friendly and went... more

We had a top-floor suite at the Monaco during Fourth of July weekend and loved it. The suite was very large with a comfortable bed, jacuzzi, two large flat screen tvs and a sleeper sofa for the kids. Our girls loved the huge window seats overlooking the river. The staff was very friendly, prompt and helpful. They gave the kids... more

My husband and I LOVED our stay at the Hotel Monaco. The location is fabulous - right downtown in the loop and close to everything - including El stops. The room was great. We both LOVED the window seats. I could just sit up in there and read and look out over the city and the river. There were a... more

We had a great stay at the Hotel Monaco. Rich, the concierge on duty when we checked in, was welcoming and very helpful, and we found the rest of the staff to be friendly and helpful as well. The room was clean and well appointed, and we loved the window seat. We were less than 10 minutes from Grant Park... more
