Stayed during the Lollapalooza music festival in Grant park, for which it is well positioned. I was suprised to find that my room was available at 9:30am, which was extremely convenient. Still, the young man at reception was somewhat arrogant and lacking in manners. The room was very clean and tastefully fitted. The bed was perhaps the most comfortable I... more

We had a 3-day special for a suite, with was good for us with 2 toddlers to run around in. I've never been to Chicago before but I'm not sure it's a 5-star hotel, more of a good 4-star. Nevertheless the room was comfortable, large (suite) and what you'd expect from a quality brand. The bed was very comfy, we... more

Nice location, easy walking distance to Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, and short cab ride to most other places. You are greeted by name by Torrey presiding over the front door. Efficient check-in and beautiful views of the lake, parks, and fountains. The separate shower and tub bathroom was wonderful. Heavenly beds!! more

We got this hotel by chance since we decided the spur of the moment to spend a nite in Chicago on 7/24/09. We went thru Priceline and was lucky to get a room at this hotel for only $69 (normal rate was around $200). The room was superb on the 29th floor with a nice king bed. Hotel is only... more

As we had come from a small bedroom in a hotel in NY the size of the room on arrival was amazing! Lovely bathroom, comfy bed, wide screen telly and the major plus was an nespresso machine in the room! The location is excellent, right by millennium park and can walk to main shopping area in about 10 minutes. Didn't... more

The Good: The location is perfect! Walking distance to Navy Pier, Millenium Park, shopping on State St. and Michigan Ave---we even walked from the Union Station Amtrak station---it takes about 30 minutes, but w/ little luggage and lots to look at it--the time flies. The concierge service was really great. They gave us good recommendations of things to do in... more

Got a great promo rate, so went for the Fairmont. Absolutely LOVED the hotel. Very courteous, unpretentious service. I wasn't prepared for how friendly all of the staff were. The room was exquisite and I'll let my photos speak for themselves. Location was fantastic: walkable to Michigan Ave. and to Navy Pier. We used our car to venture out to... more

I vacationed at the Fairmont Chicago for 3 nights in July 2009. The room, the bathroom, the view, and the staff were all wonderful. I just wish the hotel were a few blocks North (on MI Ave). Sometimes, when you're tired, that extra couple of blocks seem like miles! more
