We stayed at the W City Center from 8/13-8/16 in a regular room. I know the reviews for this hotel go back and forth- I went back and forth as well when deciding on the hotel. They had a summer promotion where I paid for two nights and got the 3rd night free, so we jumped on it. I'm glad... more

My wife and I had looked forward to our stay at the W Hotel on Adams Avenue in Chicago. Although the hotel's location was hard to beat, the hotel itself seemed dull and drab. It was more like an industrial building that had quickly and cheaply been converted to hotel quarters. The lobby was very hard to navigate to get... more

Why hello there! Thank you for your feedback! While I am disappointed to hear that the design of the W was not up to your expectations, I am thrilled to hear that our Whatever/Whenever service and location proved to delight you. The W brand has several different design palates, so I encourage you to explore the brand in other cities...

I’m a Starwood card member and anytime I travel for business I prefer to stay at one of the properties. The W Hotel is my favorite Starwood brand, so when I traveled to Chicago for Lollapalooza, I booked five nights at the W Hotel City Center ( got a decent rate using my AAA card). The hotel lobby is beautiful... more

Great location; staff is very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfy, large plasma TV... Like all W hotels: stylish and very busy. The lobby entrance is actually the middle of the bar lounge area; so if you are unlucky enough like myself to arrive when this is packed (as often it is) its an obstacle course with your luggage in... more

Thanks for sharing your experience with your fellow travelers! While the urban landscape of Chicago at times proves challenging when it comes to real estate, I am happy to hear that you were satisfied with the service and amenities of the guest rooms! With our recent renovation we have created more space in the guest rooms by incorporating furniture that...

Stayed at this hotel with my husband during a weekend visit to Chicago. I travel a ton for business, and stay at a lot of Marriotts and Westins, but am not usually at W hotels. I was pleased with the service (I was upgraded upon checking in to a larger suite), and while I am a Starwood member and was... more

This W Hotel is newly renovated. From the moment you walk into the lobby or "Living Room" you know this not your typical American hotel. In keeping with the W Hotel chain approach, this hotel is very funky. The Living Room had a cool nightclub/lounge vibe going, the staff were extremely helpful, and the rooms were impeccable. My only complaint... more

Went to Chicago for the weekend, first visit. The hotel is very trendy and cool and loved it from the moment I walked in. I had read some of the reviews and was worried what the room was going to be like as I’m not a fan of Ikea!!! all I can say is the folk that wrote that obviously... more

I relocated from the Western New York to the Minneapolis late last year, and Chicago was my logical overnight stop. I wasn't travelling alone, I had my 100+ lb. German Shepherd K-9 and two cats in the vehicle with me. I called several supposedly "pet friendly" hotels, (Hilton among others), and while they claimed to serve travelers with pets, they... more

stayed here one night in june. usually stay at w lakeshore. prefer lakeshore as there just seems to be more going on there. this place was nice, but something just seemed to be missing. perhaps it was lack of a nightclub/bar...not sure. vibe was quiet, not happening. the space is cool, but overall i think there's better. more

This hotel is like walking into a nightclub. It always feels like it's evening regardless of the time of day. The front desk is situated to the back left - near the elevators. It takes directions to find. My check-in experience was fine and the staff was friendly. She informed me the room I was getting was newly renovated. When... more
