My wife and I (both in our mid-20s) booked a studio in the Flemish House for a spring break vacation and were very impressed. Though I never actually met either Mike or Tom, both were easily available by phone and email, and all of our needs and requests were promptly met. They even let us have the room for a... more

On a recent spring break visit, my 16 year old son and I had the opportunity to stay at the Flemish House for five nights. Mike and Tom were the perfect hosts. The entire property is lovely as is the location. We stayed in 3R which is the only unit which has two beds. The room was large and comfortable... more

I'd like to put my comments in context. I am a business traveller, and I have had the privilege to visit and stay in over 25 countries solely at 4-star and 5-star properties. So when I was asked to attend a conference in Chicago I decided to eschew the generic conference hotel, and chose to stay instead at the very... more

My husband and I, along with another couple (from Britian) stayed here for two nights. We stayed in a studio, while our friends stayed in the larger apartment. We were all very impressed with the decor, and cleanliness, but the best part of all was the location of the Flemish House. If you step out onto the front stoop and... more

I rarely stay at B&Bs, only when other good hotel opportunities are not available. Nothing against B&Bs, which I love, it's just the convenience factor mostly. This lovely inn is perfectly located for business and pleasure, run by amiable guys and a couple of friendly cats. I highly recommend it. Very relaxed, like being at home, independant, not too intimate.... more

You can't beat the location. While the B&B on a quiet side street, it is only a block from all the services a traveller would need including a subway stop that is only 1/2 kilometer away. The space is huge in comparison to hotel standards, and we didn't hear a thing in our rear suite. The only things that could... more

I've stayed with my family at the Flemish House (one entire week, from July 28 to August 3). Flemish House is one of our favorite place in the US for housing. Many A++++ criteria, and no con's at all ! The house in itself is a must-seen in Chicago. Located in a quiet and beautiful street, Flamish House is decorated... more

I booked this apartment after reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor. It is a lovely place. Best of all is the location. Within walking distance to all the sights, yet on a quiet, leafy street. But at the bottom there are dozens of trendy bars, restaurants and shops. We'd recommend Bistro Zinc and The originla Pancake House. The Magnificent Mile... more

Management response from

This guest expressed an interest in the cats, and we thought they would enjoy their attention. The cats are, in-general, rarely in the guest rooms and we respect guests that are allergic and/or voice that they don't care for felines, in which case our "two guys" are not allowed out of the owner's residence during that guest's stay.
