My husband and I just returned from spending a week at the Gold Coast Guest House B&B. Our visit was perfect. Sally and her staff made us feel as though we were family or dear friends. Sally provided us with umbrellas for some unexpected rain and light-weight folding chairs to bring to outdoor concerts. Her recommednations about getting on and... more

We've stayed at Gold Coast several times. It's a great location, just a few blocks off Rush Street, and a charming, renovated historic Chicago house. It has a lovely small courtyard. The rooms are nicely done and bathrooms have organic products which we appreciate. The quirks? The tight spiral staircase is a pain to get even small suitcases up and... more

Had fantastic stay in one of the most accommodating B&Bs I've ever been to. Place was extremely clean and comfortable. Gave a magnificent first hand impression of Chicago Townhouse life. Property manager, Sally, was incredibly welcoming and friendly and let me use the house as a base for my full 2-day research trip, even though I only slept there and... more

After a long trip to Europe for business, it was a pleasure to stay at the B&B. It's elegant and friendly, and is within walking distance of Michigan Avenue. I have stayed at the B&B in the past and always loved the location, but now it has a brand new kitchen that simply makes this the best B&B in Chicago.... more

Even the cold of Chicago in winter could not dampen the warm hospitality and cozy surroundings at the Gold Coast Guest House. Innkeeper Sally has exceptional suggestions for restaurants, sights, and other useful tips. The comfort and amenities of each room and wireless internet made my combination work/leisure trip a total success. I am looking forward to returning soon. more

We stayed at the Gold Coast B&B for five days in November. We found it to be excellent; extremely comfortable, with bedrooms accessed by a lovely spiral staircase. Sally thinks of everything above and beyond people's needs, which was very much appreciated. The shower was was excellent, with constant hot water and the beds were cosy and comfortable. We had... more

My husband and I stayed at the Gold Coast Guest House during our visit to Chicago to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time! Its location is superb - a charming neighborhood within comfortable walking distance to quite a bit: the Red Line (wonderful public transportation!), the lakefront (great for walking, bike riding, roller skating, or just... more

We stayed there for four nights and were not sure what to expect having read recent reviews. As it happened we did not have to tackle the spiral staircase because we turned up with so much luggage that Sally suggested we stay in the ground floor bedroom. That turned out to be a good move because it is also next... more

good location but when we booked nothing was said about the addition odf taxes vto the price. On arrival veery jet lagged we were immediateli given the bill for 3 nights and asked to pay.Extra 75 dollars for parking! We got the distinct impression that this b&b exists as a money making venture and that we were almost a nuisance.Very small... more

That spiral stair would indeed make like difficult not only for anybody with mobility problems, but for anybody with bulky luggage. Also we aren't used to staying in places without live-in staff, and were a little disoriented by this. And yet we really liked it for a week in June. When Sally was around, she wasn't just, as already mentioned,... more
