This hotel is nothing special. It does have a great location though it's closer to the museum campus than Magnificent Mile. The walk wasn't too terrible but it was a good location. The hotel itself has two restraunts attached a sushi and then a hamburger place. Our room was very large and set up in the old style (the hotel... more

I went to Chicago for a few days; my main objective was to see the exhibit on Edward Hopper at the Art Institute, for those who are not familiar, Hopper is famous for his portrayal of depressed people in a 50's urban setting. Staying at the Travelodge turned out to be a very funny experience as the hotel has a... more

The hotel is quite old, and it shows. The room was strangely laid out, but was nice and large. We had a small fridge, microwave and coffee make which were convenient. The bathroom was clean and new, but the water pressure was very weak! (We were up on the 10th floor so lower floors might be better). The wireless internet... more

It was terrible that I called them several times for claiming my lost clothing and charger for DC. They always ignored it by answering that "I will call you back if..." but nothing gonna happen. more

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Travelodge in Downtown Chicago. After reading some of the posted comments I was really apprehensive about staying there, but decided to chance it anyways. We think most of the comments were unfounded. We did find the room and bathroom small or “Kozy” as they called it, but they were... more

I booked this room through the Travelodge website. It was nothing like their pictures on the web. I arrived late at night and the attendant behind some one way glass (still visible) refused to wait on me because he was chatting up a young lady. Eventually the security guard bellowed at him and he came out. He gave me my... more

This hotel is ok, the room was the worst we have ever stayed in and just looked old. The rest of the hotel is dated to but everything is clean. The location is great, 5mins from lakeshore, 2mins from the subway and the magnificant mile is 15-20mins walk. For somwhere to lay your head its not too bad. There are... more

I live in Chicago and am looking for a hotel in the city for my relatives. I wouldn't even consider this hotel because I know it's within two or three blocks of the methadone clinic and a halfway house. I might be ok for driving and even walking around for certain people but others might feel very uncomfotable in this... more

We visited Chicago by Amtrak on a limited budget to see the symphony and a basketball game. We had a great time and overlooked the negative things. We received a good value for the money. We might stay there again. more
