A Real Gem. The hotel is excellent - Good, Big Rooms, Clean Bathroom with a Bath Tub, Near to Public transportations. The staff was excellent. room cleaning was good. room had coffee makers, free local calls, iron with board etc. The restaurant down below was also very good. You cross the street and you get Subway, KFC, Dunking Donuts all... more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and chose it due to it's central location and good rates compared to other hotels in the area. The location is brilliant, and as long as you don't expect too much from a budget hotel, it's fine. Our room was basic and a bit shabby, but clean. It was very noisy due... more

I stayed one night at the Travelodge Chicago Downtown this past weekend with two girlfriends. We wanted a cheap hotel in a decent location. This hotel has both! We never expected this hotel to be 5 Stars, and it wasn't, but we were pleasantly surprised! The main thing we were hoping was that the hotel would be CLEAN and we... more

My room was dirty, run down, noisy (window wouldn't close all the way and lots of street noise), the bathroom smelled strongly of mildew, the carpet was dirty, the bed sheets stained, small rough towels, cheap toilet paper, the bedspread tattered, the furniture beat up, no desk, etc. The location is close to Grant Park and not far from Millennium... more

I agree with other reviews that says it is loud. The train literally runs about 100 feet from the building. But I think that is mostly because the windows are REALLY old and you hear all the noise coming in from them. By "newly remodeled" they mean Paint Coat number 862 on the walls, poorly applied I might add. Talking... more

We stayed here mid April 2009 and got a very good rate through a 3rd party website. The Hotel looked to me like it was the first Travelodge ever made! The place is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The Room was fairly small but dirty and dark. The carpets were once red but now almost black with worn patches... more

We chose this hotel because it was close to the office and reasonably priced. MISTAKE. The front desk seemed uninterested that we had arrived and in a hurry to get back to their chit chatting. The room was like a jail cell. It was small, cramped and dirty. The couch in the room was COVERED in stains of god knows... more

My friend whom we were visiting in Chicago booked us in this hotel last April 12-13. I won't complain about the dirty carpets and leftover tissues but about the security in this hotel. This hotel has NONE!! When we came back to the hotel the evening of April 12 from a day of touring the city, we saw that there... more

The Chicago Downtown Travelodge is in an older building, but it has been completely renovated and is very clean. The front desk was friendly and helpful. There is a cafe at one side of the lobby, at which I ate breakfast, and an inexpensive, good Thai restaurant at the other side of the lobby. There are plenty of other eating... more

I was aprehensive at first because of a review that I had read. I must say though that I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is dated and looks like a budget hotel. But it is comfortable, clean and the staff is friendly. I live in New York City and know that there are issues w/ pests in this day and... more
