Well. I had thought that the InterContinental was an upscale chain, having stayed at the one in Hong Kong (formerly the Regent). I was mistaken. I stayed at this one for 2 days while attending a meeting and was very disappointed. The positives first: location, staff, lobby, food/drink. A Starbucks in the lobby. These were all fine if not better... more

Upon check-in, staff was polite but offered no information about the hotel. I was suppose to have a Magnificent Mile Suite and paid for this; however, I could only see a side street. Bathroom was very small. I stayed Wed.-Sun. and each day something was missing from my room. No shampoo, no washclothes, no glasses. Restaurant was great with good... more

The Hotel InterContinental is in an ideal location, right on Michigan Avenue. Everything was in good condition, perhaps recently renovated. The room was average size for a city hotel, but it did have a built in sofa under the window which was convenient. The bathroom was small and the tub was so small and shallow it would have been a... more

I went for a conference, and was booked, paid for and confirmed for late arrival. When I arrived exhausted after midnight, the hotel was overbooked. I was shipped off to a lesser hotel (20 minutes away but evidently owned by Intercontinental) for the night. Ultimately I got my room, an apology from the manager, and 1 free night (to be... more

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Inter Continental with my spouse on a 3 day business trip. The valet parking was quick & efficient and check in was a breeze. The rooms were very quiet and comfortable , the HD tv was really spectacular, and the room service meals were quick, plentiful, and very well prepared. The location was wonderful for... more

Had a reservation for a conference there 9/21/09. Flight had an emergency landing in Memphis so I called the hotel to ask them to hold my reservation and that I would arrive the next morning. They pleasantly agreed and said, "We willl see you in the morning." When I arrived the next morning I was told they had given my... more

I spent a night at the Intercontinental Chicago last week. On checking in I was upgraded to a room in the original tower. The room was perfect, comfortable and quiet; internet connection fast and reliable; and concierge services top notch. Highly recommended. more

Did some wonderful shopping below hotel. It is located above the miracle mile river and is in a gorgeous location. Beware they do charge a lot of add on's for spa, working out, etc. Great location though. more

Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We loved the view of Lake Michigan and of the Chicago Tribune tower. All the staff were very helpful, and the room was spotless. I complimented the housekeeper's service at the desk on our check out. The travertine in the large bathroom was exquisite. It was a business trip, but the hotel made... more
