We had a superb suite in the Historic Tower, it was extremely spacious and comfortable. The staff, from the trainee check in clerk onwards, were very helpful. The buffet breakfast was extensive and of good quality and was easily the best we had on this visit to the U.S.. The location at the south end of the Magnificent Mile was... more

The Intercontinental Hotel is centrally located in dwontown Chicago. It was walking distance to Navy Pier, Grant Park, Rush Street, and of course is located right on Michigan Avenue. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were clean. The valet parking was also very convienvent. For our next trip to Chicago we plan on staying at the Intercontinental. more

It is an older but very nice hotel within easy walking distance of the Mag Mile and the Theater District. We were pleasantly surprised by the extra bathroom in our suite, and the excellent house keeping services. The concierge also recommended a charming Italian restaurant nearby called Volare. more

Of the many hotels I have paid a reasonable amount of money to stay in, this is the worst. For this price range they nickle and dime you for everything (workout room, internet, etc.). Other hotels in the area include much more than this hotel that is very much in need of renovation and new management. more

I booked this hotel for an absoulute steal through hotels.com. The hotel is in a great location you can walk to the lakefront, water tower and el stop. The rooms are slightly bigger than average and well appointed. The real dissapointment at the InterContinental is the service. At check in I was told that the fee for incedentals was $100.00... more

Comfortable place to relax with a glass of wine and some truffles. Place features cheese flights ("sensations"), wine flights and truffle flights. There are also wines by the glass and bottle. I would suggest going early evening or late night when not too crowded. Flights come with explanatory cards of what you are eating or drinking. Service was ok. Most... more

My boyfriend took me to Chicago for a 3 night stay over the 4th of July. The check in was quick but they said he had booked a smoking room with double beds. We had actually booked a non smoking deluxe king room. We had to pay extra to upgrade. Our room was nice and had a nice view. The... more

This has been one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. I travel at least 40-50 days a year so this is my highest compliment. The hotel is lovely, we were in one of the historic rooms, furnishings and room size were wonderful. Bedding lush, room super clean and well designed. The pool is magnificent, see it, if even if... more

Our stay at the Intercontinental did not start off well. Upon arrival at 4pm, we were told that our two rooms were not ready and that they would call my cell phone when it was finished. I received a call within 20 minutes stating that one of my rooms was done. For my inconvience, they did upgrade me to a... more

My husband and I stayed at the Intercontinental for 3 nights during a business trip and would definitely recommend this hotel. The service from the moment we arrived was excellent. Our room wasn't ready upon our arrival and the front desk took my cell number and called me to let me know when I could come back and check in.... more
