Hotel was easily accessible to great dining, metro, lake, parks and beautiful neighborhoods. We walked everywhere and felt safe during the day and night. Hotel staff is friendly and accomodations were good. The rooms were well equipped and very clean but a little worn. In general a "makeover" seems overdue. We would definitely stay here again. more

We had read reviews on this hotel and wondered if it would be ok. It was wonderful. It was exactly what we wanted. We were not expecting a brand new Disney hotel; we were hoping for a grand old European style hotel in a quiet neighborhood, and that's exactly what we got. We had access to the business center on... more

We had a celebrity suite that was supposed to have a master bedroom & sleeper sofa in the family room, only to find out when we were going to bed, that our couch was not a sleeper sofa. We had two couples staying in the suite. The hotel was booked & no cots were available in the hotel so we... more

I have stayed at the AE for years because of it's great location and friendly staff. However, now, the carpets are worn, the furniture is tattered and torn, the TV's are 19" CRT models. This year the shower handle broke causing the water to only come out of the tub faucet. We had to call guest services twice before the... more

This hotel has excellent service and is in a great location. However, it needs major renovations. The hotel has a mold odor on the upper floors and has chipping paint. The window in room was filthy and had massive spider webs. The water was turned off from 11pm till 5am due to plumbing problems. It needs major renovations and would... more

Lobby is beautiful. Staff is outstanding. We stayed for 7 days and had a problem with the toilet and were moved to a new (slightly larger) room as soon as we were ready. The TV didn't work very well and was replaced promptly. The room was lovely, but showing it's age a little. The neighborhood is terrific and very quiet.... more

Main lobby to the Ambassador is beautiful, the staff is very friendly and attentive but the room was dissapointing. The carpeting is old, the room is very small, the tv is very small but on the plus side it was very clean and the housekeeping was excellent. The rate paid for the room was excellent but valet parking was 45... more

WOW!! Where do I start? Booked this hotel through Hotels.com for less than I paid for the Travellodge Downtown. Check in was a breeze, the entire staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was huge. The king bed was very comfortable. Our room also had 2 nightstands, 2 chairs with a small table, a desk, and walk-in closet. Even with... more

My wife and I justed returned from a three-night stay here. We loved it. The hotel is situated on the near north side, nestled in a quiet area amongst beautiful million dollar homes and condos. We enjoyed not being in the hustle and bustle of the Magnificent Mile. Even so, the Clark & Division stop on the red line is... more

My husband, 10 year old daughter and 2 small dogs stayed for three nights. We all loved the hotel. Glamor, history, wonderful staff, clean, prompt and attentive! Very quiet in case you have a dog that barks at every little noise. We had reservations at a newer chain hotel but wanted to experience "Chicago". We can stay at a chain... more
