Just returned from a 2 1/2 day convention at The Drake & was pleasantly surprised by its classic elegance. Our 6th floor room was spacious & comfortable. The bathroom location provided lots of privacy. The banquet food served to several hundred of us Friday night through Sunday brunch was some of the tastiest I've enjoyed in some time. Our servers... more

I stayed at the Drake for 3 nights. The service was friendly, and it's not a bad locatiion, but way too salty for what you get. Actually Chicago is the "second city" for a reason, it just can't hold a candle to New York. One bright spot was the Rosebud Steakhouse just down the street, excellent restaurant. more

I was excited to stay at the Drake because I'd heard so much about it. And true, it has an amazing location, and it is very nice. It's just not qutie as nice as I expected. The reservation process was annoying. First, the hotel made an error on my reservation and then the hotel did absolutely nothing to correct the... more

The Drake should be a world class hotel as it has so much going for it. Location is the best in Chicago - opposite Bloomingdales, near Rush Street, overlooking the beach. It has history and a definate sense of granduer. That said, it is now looking a bit tired. The public areas are OK, but the rooms have a little... more

The Drake is a lovely historical hotel in Chicago. Recently renovated, the hotel looks fabulous. My room was very comfortable with a great bed, a big bathroom and windows that opened allowing for some fresh air on the first nice day of spring. The staff is very professional and gracious. In the lobby, a harpist plays music in the afternoon... more

We arrived at midnight on Thursday (still here but only because prepaid). Bed had not been changed from previous occupant - pubic hairs etc in the bed, no top sheet. Informed front desk. Informed them again after 30 minutes and no sign of anyone. Maintenance man came to see what the problem is. Came back 10 minutes later with sheets... more

As a Hilton Gold VIP HHonors member for the past few years, I generally have been very happy with the serivice I have received from the various Hilton hotels in Chicago, New York City, Washington, D.C, and San Diego. I was looking forward to staying at the Drake; we had visited the hotel in the past for dinner and drinks.... more

The Drake really has it all - you're across the street from Oak Street beach, can walk to many great rstaurants, John Hancock is 2 blocks away. Service was impeccable, room was very nice - paid extra for a Lakeview, the lobby & restaurants were all so grand. Thought also quite economical - considering all you received. Look forward to... more

A group of us stayed at the Drake Hotel over a weekend in April. It is a great historic hotel. If you stay here, you should be because you like historic hotels, not because you want ultra modern. The rooms are nicely appointed, but you can tell it is a historic hotel. The lobby is beautiful and has some interesting... more
