We love to stay in these nostalgic hotels, but I would classify this one as a miss. It's saving grace is it's location - right off the Mile and within easy walking distance of the subway, but... We were disappointed in the quality of the room. Heating/AC is all or nothing - in this case all heat. To get any... more

im from So. Cal and took this trip with two of my friends over spring break. I know, not they typical destination for spring break, but we thought we'd try something completely different with weather total opposite of sunny CA so we picked Chicago and I can now say it was a perfect choice! We arrived at this hotel and... more

We took a quick weekend trip to Chicago, and we wanted a hotel that was cheap, clean, and centrally located. The Tremont is an older hotel located right off the Magnificent Mile, about 2 blocks from the Hancock Tower. The rooms were basic, but the bed and the bathrooms were clean, which was the most important aspect. There was a... more

Hotel was fine - the staff full of smiles and friendly. Our room was very clean - old tv - curtains etc but spotless! One thing missing though... No tea or coffee in the room - first time in all years of travel has this not been part of 'the room' We went to Starbucks before bed and in the... more

The Tremont hotel is the perfect hotel for people who are going to be out and about in the city, and don't plan on spending much time in the hotel and therefore don't need a 5 star room. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Tremont for 3 nights in August during Lollapalooza, and it was exactly what we needed.... more

Stayed here late May/early June for 4 nights. Was somewhat worried given the mixed reviews on here. Paid $80 a night via priceline and felt I bagged a bargain when I turfed up at the hotel. Hotel has a nice quiet attractive lobby - a pleasant lounge to the left hand side has a nice smart period look to it... more

We stayed July 31-Aug 2 weekend. What a great hotel. Right off Michigan Avenue and connected to Ditka's restaurant (go there). Metro was close, you could walk to the water easily...safe neighborhood. Antonia was the best!! Great employee and very sweet. Really enjoyed our stay...would def. stay there again more

We were concerned by so-so reviews, but we found it OK.Didn't mind the old fasioned dark panelled interior and the room was fine although there was no tea or coffee making facilities (big problem for a Brit). No pool and fitness suite was in another hotel. The central location suited us well for the metro and the bus/train to O'Hare. The... more

Continental breakfast either did not open on time, had no coffee, and always had the lowest quality bagels, muffins, etc. you can imagine. Location is right in the middle of Chicago's homeless/begging district and is rather unpleasant. Room was clean and nice though. more
