My two kids and I stayed at the Seneca Hotel and could not have asked for more for the money. At $99/night it may have been the best deal in Chi-town. The location was perfect and close to shopping, public transportation, and attractions. The hotel is old and a bit dated, but very clean and charming. The staff was courteous... more

My husband and I stayed at the Seneca as he had a 3 day conference at the Merchandise Mart. I wanted a hotel that was close to attractions so I had something to do while he was working and was easy for him to get to and from the conference (it was a convenient $6 taxi ride). LOVED: The king... more

This was my first time staying here and it was the best. The staff were very helpful and knowledgable. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in so they upgraded us to a king suite that had a living room, dining room, full kitchen and bath, king bed and 2 walk-in closets. It was fabulous! It was a great location.... more

Our travel agent booked the hotel for us for a very reasonable price. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a very large suite with every amenity. The location was terrific--just behind the Hancock Tower. We walked everywhere. A hot breakfast was included which came as a surprise since the rooms had kitchenettes. All the employees that we dealt with were very... more

We stayed in a suite with wonderful furniture and only paid $119. The Seneca staff was incredibly kind and helpful and the location was great (close to everything, yet quiet). The kitchen and bathroom weren't anything fancy, but they were clean and efficient. This is a great place for kids that need more room than the average hotel has to... more

After staying at the Seneca Hotel I have determined that the seemingly inconsistent reviews on this site are accurate. It appears to me that the traveler's perception of this hotel entirely depends upon whether they receive a "recently renovated" room versus an "un-renovated" room. Despite requesting a "renovated room" my wife and I as well as another couple stayed in... more

Has a bit of character - not much, but some - but after my wife and I checked in, we went to our room, I lay down to catch a nap after a two and half hour flight, early morning, and there's NOISE. They're -renovating- above us. What? Is that normal? I've never stayed at a hotel like this -... more

I read reviews for the Seneca online and found the lowest rate on their website--$111/night for 3 nights (5/14-17). I was a little hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews but I figured for the price and given the great location, any hiccups would be worth it. We arrived right around 3 p.m. (checkin time) on Thursday and were... more

Three of us stayed two nights in April. From the moment we checked in, we were treated respectfully and the staff had great attitudes. We paid $140 for our first night which was booked the day before, and our second night included the parking package so it was $191. The second night was booked several months before via TravelZoo. Our... more
