I must admit I was a little concerned when reading some of the reviews. We booked the Allerton through Priceline for 5 nights in July. When checking in we were offered a free upgrade to a larger room. I must admit that this "larger" room was still quite small, but this would be expected from an older hotel in downtown... more

It's hard to beat the location of this hotel. It's right on MI ave. We got a great rate for the season and a cheap upgrade to a suite. However, the service was pretty crappy. I don't think anyone smiled at us once while we were there. more

I stayed at the Allerton for Valentine's day weekend 09'. I must say it was a very nice hotel. Although small, staff was very friendly and accomodating. We originally booked a; I believe they refer to it as a "mini" room.. (dont quote me) but they upgraded us free of charge to a normal size king bedroom. The hotel is... more

My fiancee and I were looking so forward to this trip , but were sadly disappointed. We were greeted with rotting food in the refrigerator. We called down to the front desk and they sent up a maintenance person, who cleaned out the refrigerator, and sprayed what appeared to be Febreze. No offer of a new room whatsoever. No apology.... more

Great location. The rooms are small and the hotel itself is stylishly decorated. There are some cleanliness and room maintenance issues that need to be addressed. Overall I was satisfied and would stay here again. more

We stayed for a weekend in June and the location was great, but the hotel is clearly taking advantage of its location to offer less. The rates are similar to other loop locations. The carpet in our room was filthy, and no, dim lighting will not mask it! The room was slightly larger than the queen size bed. There was... more

Was booked here for a meeting - the organizers thought we would like the historic aspect of the hotel. The lobby and public areas are indeed stylish, as are the rooms. But rooms are REALLY tiny. Only one wastebasket, so I had to keep moving it between the desk and bathroom. Lots of hall noise, the A/C was also very... more

We stayed here for a one night stop over before catching a flight to NYC the following day. The hotel was fantastic, the room was big, with a separate lounge area, great bathroom with big shower and two big televisions. Eventhough we had spent the previous 36 hours on a train, the bed was sooooo comfy! The only thing wrong... more
