I like an honest review and I do know that sometimes "things happen". I had read good reviews about the Basil Leaf. So, we put it on our "must do" restaurant list for Lincoln Park. We were dissapointed. The food was average and my spouse never received his. After 45 minutes, we cancelled his meal. yes, the server was apologetic... more

My husband and I frequently dine at Basil Leaf, before and after its move across the street on Clark. The new restaurant is spacious and has a much more modern decor than the previous location. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. The only negative that I have experienced is that sometimes the wait... more

I love the Basil Leaf -- good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Every time I visit my brother in Lincoln Park, this is a "must visit" restaurant. I love the vegetable risotto, and the butternut squash soup is awesome (my brother calls it "crack in a bowl"). Love the desserts, too! more

Who wouldn't love the Basil Leaf? It's the only decent place in East Lincoln Park that is still affordable. Stuck in with a hundred bars on Clark Street, the Basil Leaf is one of the only walking distance options.
