The prime rib was outstandingly butter-knife tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were homemade. The service was formal and friendly. The old mansion setting and tableside service gave a lot of old 1950s pomp and circumstance. The shrimp cocktail and lobster tails were competent but not standouts. Highly recommended. more

My mother-in-law's favorite restaurant, Lawry's is an institution in Chicago. Come with an empty stomach because even the smallest cuts of prime rib are more than most people can handle, not to mention all the sides. If you have room for dessert, the chocolate bag is a sure-hit. more
I went to Lawry's the night before Mother's Day, and am glad I had reservations. Even with reservations, I had a 15 minute wait.
