I recently visited American Girl Place Cafe with my daughter (12), her school friend and the friend's mom. We went for lunch ($21 each) and had a wonderful time. The food was good, staff was fairly attentive. Even with the girls being as old as they were (most girls there were younger) they had a great time. I'd definitely recommend... more

This was our second visit/meal to AG Chicago and first to new Water Tower location. The wait staff is superb from the moment you are greeted! Table topics is a wonderful wait to connect and pass time with your girl (not that there is much of a wait for anything). We had tea in '08 and lunch in '09. AWESOME!... more

I was very happy to treat my daughters, age 9 and 11 to Brunch at the AG, but have to admit the food was absolutely repulsive. Service was sweet and geared to the girls. Atmosphere was fine but not what you expect for such a successful business. I don't think they can maintain a food operation without more visionary leadership... more

I took my daughter and her best friend to celebrate her birthday. We attended the brunch and the food was awful. The kids ordered the pancakes w/bananas and whipped cream, and they couldn't even eat it because it tasted so awful. The atmosphere was wonderful though and the service was great, but for that type of money the food should... more

Another adult doll collector and I have been to tea twice at this cafe. We took our dolls and they were treated with as much courtesy as we were. They each had their own chairs and cups and saucers. The waiter was friendly and polite and didn't bat at eyelash and two (and three) adults with dolls. The food was... more

We took our daughters, ages 5 & 7 to lunch at the American Girl Cafe. It was wonderful, starting with the pink, white, and black decor, the clip-on chairs for the dolls, and the take-home hair scrunchies that served as napkin rings. The service was excellent, the price reasonable, and the food tastier than I expected, with large portions and... more

My friend and I took our daughters (6, 10) to Chicago during Spring break, April 2007. What a great experience! We spent "A Day at American Girl" which included dinner in the American Girl Cafe. This was our first trip to Chicago and to any American Girl Place. The food was really good (the girls ordered yummy baked chicken tenders!),... more

We brought our six and eight year old daughters here for lunch on July 6, 2007. They really enjoyed the bright decor and chairs for dolls. The service was great. The girls felt special and were able to keep a couple of souvenirs from lunch-black and white striped scrunchies as napkin holders and plastic daisies from dessert of dirt cake. more

Very Cute!

I took my six year old daughter here with her Bitty Baby and she absolutely loved it. It is so much fun to have tea with your doll. The sweets and finger sandwiches are very tasty. The service is attentive and they do pay quite a bit of attention to the girls and their dolls. The only downside is the... more
