I'm a lover of good Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and was prepared to be wowed by Chicago's beef sandwich claim to fame. Despite being dipped and loaded with peppers the sandwich was bland and on the dry side. French fries were pretty good. but all of us were terribly underwhelmed by the experience considering the hype that the other reviews generated.... more

dipped with hot peppers. For the out of towners this is something not to miss, the Italian Beef Sandwich. Al's #1 is great too, it's a matter of preference which is better. more

My wife and I stopped here for dinner one evening. It wasn't quite what we expected. We never would have even considered stopping if we didn't know what it was. One of the best, original places to enjoy a Chicago favorite. Italian Beef. Be sure to order it "Sweet & Hot" (peppers) and "dipped" (they dunk it in the juice!) more
