Enjoyed a lovely day at the museum when I arrived a half day early for a meeting the next day. I was starving when I got off the plane and down to the museum area -though, I'd remembered that their cafe was not that great. Outside by the fountain is the place to sit. I had the raspberry chicken salad and it was outstanding. The cheese plate seemed good as did the pulled pork sandwich. more
The Art Institute of Chicago has a lovely courtyard restaurant. It is a great place to rest your feet after a few hours. The menu is limited, however, the food was excellent. The service was top notch also. Very convenient if you aren't done exploring the museum. more

This is one of the best museum restaurants I have experienced. I had a small sirloin with mushroom ragout, seared summer squash, corn flan, and a mojito followed by creme brulee and cappucino.
