Was in Chicago for 5 days for a summer meeting. Had lunch one day, brought friends the next for lunch and tipped a cabbie extra to speed another group of friends there before closing after a Cubs game. We had dinner at Fornetto Mei last night (my husband, myself, and 3 1/2 year old daughter). The service was great, and they were really sweet to stop and talk with my little girl, which made her day. Had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful dinner at this small restaurant located on Delaware St. between Wabash and Michigan, adjacent to the Whitehall Hotel. A woodburning oven makes for delicious pizzas but this isn't your corner bar and grill. Sophisticated food combinations prevail, a great wine list and desserts impeccably plated.
