Located in the James Hotel, this lively restaurant serves wonderful, dry aged steaks. Everything is ala carte but you do not need to order an additional side per person as the steak portions are very large. Request a booth as it is a very popular spot and rather noisy. Our waiter Scott was fabulous, attentive and knew the menu in... more

I continue to be impressed with the excellent quality of food and service at this wonderful Chicago steakhouse. I've been living in downtown Chicago for the past 10 years and I make it a habit to go out to a variety of steakhouses, and David Burke's always draws me back in more than the others. Maybe it's the warm feeling... more

After reading mostly positive reviews on Yelp, we gave it a try while in Chi-town. This dining experience was a disappointment. We arrived about 30 minutes early for our 8p reservations. They were not able to seat us, even though there were open tables in half the restaurant. I was tempted to go elsewhere. After eating here, I wish we... more

The hype about David Burke's is clearly all about the length in which they age their prime cuts of steaks. The "signature steaks" start out at 40 days and move up to 55 days and 75 days. They proudly claim they age these steaks with a special blend of Himalayan salt. For our visit to the restaurant - the 75... more

We had to send both steaks back. One they had to start over because it was overcooked. The next one they brought out was tough and almost inedible. While they were cooking and recooking, our veggies were left on the table to get cold. Very disappointing in light of the cost. more

One of my dining companions ordered the special filet which there was "only one left". I can only imagine the faces of the other people who ordered this meat. It was fragrant with the odor of barn. Everyone else's was normal- delicious even. I myself do not partake in the consumption of red meat, but I smelled them all, and... more

My husband and I came here on a recommendation from a local Chicagoan...and boy does she have good taste! From the look and feel of the James Hotel lobby where the restaurant is located, we were thinking the restaurant was going to be very fancy (in a quiet, hush-hush romantic kind of way). However, the restaurant was very boisterous and... more

I would not recommend dining at this restaurant for several reasons. First, the steaks are NOT of high quality. My wife ordered the filet and it was the worst filet I have ever seen served at a restaurant. The steak was almost cut in half and into several pieces. This is unacceptable, particularly when you are paying $50 just for the... more

This was by FAR my favorite meal of the summer...heard rave reviews about it from a friend that always knows the best foodie spots in Chicago--this is her best find yet!! The chef Rick Gresh goes to the farmer's market each Wednesday and picks out the freshest, most delicious local food he can find. I was intrigued, as this is... more

The steak is really the main attraction here, to be honest I don't remember much else about the meal. The options and variety of aging, etc are amazing and it's hard to choose which cut to get. more
