Art Smith's venture into fine dining in Chicago is a can't miss for food lovers. The popularity he's garnered through his high-profile pre-restaurant days along with the good reviews of the place have made getting a reservation something that requires some planning ahead, but do so. When you first walk in, you are struck by the size - very small... more

My friends and I ate there last Friday night. The food was excellent. The sides were even more amazing ( 1 - mac and cheese 2 - sweet potatoes). Hummingbird cake is a must not miss! The Chef came and greeted the table which was exciting. We went early but by the time we left the place was full. The... more

I went to Table 52 on Sunday September 6th with friends. The restaurant was small but cozy. They served deviled eggs and chedder biscuits compliments of the chef as soon as we sat down. We had the buttermilk fried chicken, collard greens, sweet potatoes, and Mac and Cheese. I also had lemonade. The food was so very good. I especially... more

Going to a restaurant that is highly acclaimed like Table 52 - you expect the best. This restaurant delivers! The food was just to die for - everything was prepared excellently, and the tastes were phenomenal. Presentation was simple yet appealing. There were 3 of us in our party, and each ordered something different, we could not decide who's was... more

Fantastic meal. Go on Wednesday or Sunday to partake of the supper special--southern fried chicken. Loved that chef Art Smith came out to mingle with diners. Beware - cocktails are hideously expensive. Four cocktails on our tab for two accounted for half of our total bill (including a shared app and two mains). more

I recently ate at Table Fifty-Two with my wife. Our evening was wonderful, from the food to the ambiance. I would classify the fare as upscale comfort food with a little bit of a southern flare. Ingredients seemed fresh, and the food was delivered to us as if it was right off the grill. Chef Art Smith, of Oprah and... more

I was dining alone, so I sat at the bar by the wood-fired oven and had a very enjoyable meal, chatting with the staff. The meal started with a drop-biscuit baked in a cast-iron skillet and topped with parmesan cheese. I could have made a meal of just biscuits! The pistachio-crust chicken with lo mein noodles was terrific. I did... more

Solid apps, side and desserts (especially the heavenly hummingbird cake!), but the entrees were all lacking, especially the burger which was specially recommended. Go to Rosebud Prime for a good burger. Go to Table 52 for the sweets. more

Table 52 is a very pretty and intimate restaurant with a nice colour scheme and elegant furnishings. The chef used to cook for Oprah and has opened up a restaurant of his own. Reservations are hard to come by so call well in advance or ask to be put on their cancellation list. It's located on Elm Street just off... more
