We have finally narrowed our choices to two - the Amalfi or the Homewood Suites. Any thoughts on which is the better choice? We have never been to Chicago - we are a family of 5, three girls ages 14,13,6. I'm leaning toward Homewood for the size of the rooms but Amalfi seems so nice! Help!!

You are correct. The rooms are bigger at the HS and there's an indoor pool. Location-wise, it's a wash.

I stayed at the Homewood Suites, and was very impressed with the room. We had a small living room and full kitchen. The free breakfast was great! I haven't stayed at the Amalfi, but I think with 3 children, Homewood Suites would work very well.

Given your group, I'd go with the Homewood (and you can have a fridge/full kitchen/breakfast/pool there.) The Amalfi would be a great choice for just a parents' getaway, but the Homewood would be better for a family trip. The Homewood also has a fantastic location just off Michigan Ave. The breakfast is served in a really nice room off the lobby.

Definitely use the SAVEBIG20 coupon code on Orbitz.com for the Homewood to get 20% off, and definitely choose the 1BR suite, NOT the studio suite.
