Things to do near Hotel Monaco

We will be staying here July 16-18. On Saturday our train does not leave until 3:00. We are looking for something to do, besides shopping, from about 9 to 1. We thought about leaving our things in a locker at Union Station and taking the water taxi to Chinatown or is there anything around Union station that would be interesting to see. All input is helpful, thanks.

It’s not really there far of a walk from there to Millennium Park or the Art Institute, obviously you could take transit or a cab as well. The Willis Tower (I’m trying to start saying that) just put in the new glass ledges, it is right across the river from Union Station.

If you want breakfast, a Chicago institution, Lou Mitchell’s is close by (565 W. Jackson).

As you noted Chinatown is an option.

Flatwater has a nice brunch. It's at Clark Street and the River and there's no place better on a nice summer day. http://www.flatwater.us/

Sears Tower has a new Skydeck Ledge, which looks amazing. It's just a block east of Union Station.

"Willis Tower" - they've decided to keep it as Sears Tower.
