Right next door is Ralph Lauren's restaurant. I'm not sure what child friendly means, but if you have a well behaved child, they will be welcomed. For lunch, they have burgers/fries and cheese sandwiches on the menu. To go the other route, The Rock and Roll McDonalds on Ontario street is surely alot of fun for kids. It's probably a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute cab ride from AGP.

Mity Nice Grill in Water Tower Place is another good child-friendly option and will take reservations (I love Cheesecake Factory but hate waiting in crowded lines.) You could also see if anything is available at the Signature Room of the Hancock Building - my kids loved dining there for lunch. We waited a few extra minutes for a window seat and it was well worth it.

If you are willing to walk to the rock n roll mcdonalds on ontario then another great option just across the street is the Rainforest cafe. Jungle theme,animatronic animals and a nice big fish tank. All geared toward kids with good food for the adults also.

I'll second foodlife- I took my kids there 2 times last week. After 5pm they have a $10 deal you get soup or salad (the salad is the size of a dinner plate) 1 entry, a drink and dessert. I bought 2 $10 deals for the three of us (me, DD10,DS6). It was plenty of food. There is great selection there, Japnese, chinese, pasta, barbque, chicken, pot roast you name it. My kids got a 3 piece broasted chicken with macaroni and cheese (yum) and mashed potatoes.

Thanks for all your replies everyone. I didn't realize there was still a Rainforest Cafe in Chicago. Ours closed years ago, but we always enjoyed it, so we might have to go there.

Some of the other suggestions sound good too, though! Hmmm, decisions, decisions.
