 Chicago Cubs Tickets

Hello,

We are coming to Chicago from England from 29th Aug to 3rd September and wanted to watch Cubs on Monday night against Houston Astro.

Is there anywhere in the city we can buy tickets or would we have to go out to Wrigley Field? We don't really want to take the chance of buying them outside the ground on the day.

Thank you!!

Jo

You can actually go to the official Cubs website (chicago.cubs.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp…) and purchase the tickets straight from their website. You can choose which price level you want, how many tickets and it will say which seats are exactly available for purchase.

Hope that helps and enjoy the game! :)

I've just tried it but for some reason the $32 tickets when you get to the checkout come out at $75 each?!! + tax + cost to mail to England.

Thanks for the advice though - I'll give it another go tomorrow it might have sorted itself out.

What about the "will call" option--buying tickets online and picking up your tickets at the window at Wrigley or they even have a "print your tickets at home" option--is that anything you can try?

I would definitely advise the "will call" pick up option instead of having them mailed to you. That should save some money. Unfortunately, I believe their tickets are done through TicketMaster which means they add 'convenience' fees to each ticket, which is deceiving as its more a hinderance than convenience. Most these fees will still be present (just not in such abundance) if you purchase them at the window at Wrigley Field. It's one of (my) major gripes when purchasing tickets here in America. TicketMaster ruins things by nearly-doubling the ticket to any sporting event, concert or comedy show.

They also offer a "print tickets at home" feature (though I think it's outrageous that it's not FREE - as would be mailing tickets to a US address). That's US$2.50 for the order.

I went through an ordering attempt for 31 August (your Monday night) and found a lot of ticket choices available, including the coveted Bleacher seats ($50, but often sold out months in advance). However when I tried the $32 tickets (terrace reserved outfield) the tickets it presented were $36 tickets (terrace reserved infield). Maybe that happened to you?

I ordered my tickets direct from them and printed them myself. The added bonus being that you could print out more than one in case you often mislay things!

Wrigley Field is an amazing place to visit. I felt so welcome there and it was great to see so many people in blue cheering along when we won. At least I can still watch the Cubs play on ESPN America here in the UK.

Oooh looks like if you're one of the first 10,000 people you get a free Billy Williams bobblehead. I got a Derrek Lee bobblehead when I visited :)
