Blackstone is a better property but they are in completely different neighborhoods. Both neighborhoods are great, but different.

Friends and I recently enjoyed dinner @ Mercat in the Blackstone. Restaurant was fabulous. Afterwards, we stopped at the front desk and asked if, by chance, we could see what their hotel rooms are like. They were extremely nice and had someone take us up and show us a couple of rooms. Rooms were outstanding - I was impressed and would definitely recommend the Blackstone to out-of-town guests.

If you do opt to stay at the Blackstone, be sure to have breakfast one or more mornings at Yolk on the 1100 block of South Michigan (it's truly excellent!), or about 5 blocks south of your hotel.
