We visited on a Saturday morning. A tip: if you are certain that you are going, try to buy tickets online 24 hours in advance and you can head to the "will call" window. I think we spent nearly 2 hours in line for the tickets. Also, the aquarium closed early at 3pm this Saturday. (I have only myself to blame, as I didn't plan this one well!)

However, my husband and I still had a great time! We enjoyed searching for each species of fish in each of the tank exhibits. Other must-sees: the Beluga whales, the penguins, and also the sharks in the Wild Reef. The Wild Reef is a pain to get to though...you have to line up for the elevator to get to and from. (Unfortunately, my husband and I tried to be smart and look for stairs (there were none) and acidentally set off the alarm...don't do this! Just stay in line for the elevator unless the staff directs you otherwise!)

Visited Shedd with our three children on June 15, 2009. Way too overcrowded. Total waste of time and money because it was too crowded to be able to see any of the fish. We practically had to push our way through just to see a few aquariums. If it hadn't been so crowded I'm sure it would have been a good time.

Our family loved the Shedd Aquarium. We have been to others and this one ranks right up there with the best. A definite must see while in Chicago. Nice thing is, it is located right by Field Museum and Alder Planentarium, so you can catch another attraction nearby the same day.

Having a daughter who loves sea animals, visiting Shedd was an obvious choice. She loved seeing all of the sealife. The Spongebob 4-D show was great, it was our first experience in a 4-D theater. It was very cool. We were disappointed that the dolphins and beluga whales weren't there but we knew ahead of time that they weren't going to be there.

We went on Saturday morning before Easter and the line to get in the aquarium was really long. Luckily we were given the tip to arrive a 1/2 hour before it opened so we got right in.
