I am not a baseball fan, however this field could make me one again. Its old, doesn't have the ammenities of the New Yankee Stadium or CitiField, but who cares. The area around the neighborhood is great. Its filled with bars and restaraunts. We got there a couple of hours before the game and did a pub crawl. Thats something you could no do at Shea. Chicago fans are the politest that I have ever seen in any baseball stadium, football stadium or arena.

Even if you are not a baseball fan, this is a must see attraction if you are visiting Chicago.

Even if your are not a baseball fan everyone should attend a day game at Wrigley...It is our national pastime . The Bricks and Ivy, the 7 th inning singing, Cold old Style Draft. Life does not get any better that this .....That is why every game is a sell out . To not attend a game at wrigley is to deprive yourself a wonderful experience . You will see that Cub fans are the best in baseball. Get to Wrigleyville early and savor the time you are there . have lunch at one of the great sportsbars/restaurants in the area ....You will at the end agree What a place ..If the Cubs win or lose you will be glad you went ....Go Cubs..

I've been to MANY baseball stadiums all over the US, major and minor. I've been to a lot of single A stadiums that far outweigh Wrigley field in every way. There is a lot of glamour behind Wrigley and that's all it's about.
The seats are SO uncomfortable. Expensive drinks, incredibly overcrowded. There are a few parts of the stadium the look to be under construction, but no, that's just how the stadium looks on the inside !
So, save your $80 - $300 per seat, go to a bar and watch the game somewhere comfortably, like in your living room. After spending that kind of cash and seeing the Cubs, you will be sorely disappointed.
Also, if everyone who was drunk at Wrigley got thrown out of the stadium, you would be the only person sitting there, watching the game. VERY kid UNFRIENDLY place to go !

Had a good time, though it wasn't as life affirming/altering as I had overly worked myself up to believe. The tickets were very expensive, however the stadium seating is very close to the field and intimate in proximity to the players on field. Concession stands are plentiful and fast; there are also still beer vendors in the seats.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars right outside the stadium, and the El train station is just as close. Wrigley is a good time, just don't set unrealistic expectations.

I had read a review on this site indicating standing room only tickets were available on the day of the game. We really wanted to see a Cubs game while in Chicago. We are from Boston and so we understand how the Cubs fans feel about their team and how difficult it is to get tickets. We were also excited to visit Wrigley field. We checked for tickets online and through our hotel with very little luck. We decided to head up to the field anyway to see if we could actually get tickets on game day. We got there a few hours before the game on labor day. The box office opens 3 hours before the game for same day tickets. We were able to get great seats right behind the cubs dugout. Standing room tickets were also available, but we opted for the box seats. The experience was worth every penny even though the Cubs lost to Houston. We highly recommend taking in a Cubs game to anyone visiting Chicago who is a baseball fan.
