This hotel is pretty new and is a great place for the night. Even though the room was free (racked up some Marriot points), I still might have stayed here for whatever it costs. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed.
The bed was very comfortbale and the sleeper sofa wasn't too bad either, no annyoying bar in your back. I slept very well, especially with the ajustable wall thermostat (very nice at 68). There was a good clock/radio on the nightstand. Unlike what the photos on the hotel website, it was not an iHome.
I have an iPod touch and used the room's Wifi for internet access. It worked great. If I were to have brought my laptop, there was even a wired ethernet connection. The office chair at the desk was pretty good, not great.
The bathroom was small, just the shower and toilet. The shower had good water pressure and the door was glass (see pic). That was pretty cool. Of course, soap, shampoo, and lotion were provided in the room, but at the front desk, there was toothpaste, brushes, razors, and shaving cream avaliable for free. The hair dryer was in the closet to conserve room, but it was a very high quality one. Not the standard type found at most hotels.
The television was a flat panel LCD. Nice to have, but the lack of HD channels was noticebale since everything was a little distorted. Also, the channel lineup was pretty limited. It contained locals, Discovery, TBS, every ESPN there is, USA, A&E, CNN, and a few others. Comcast sports net was absent from the list, so if you are planning on watchng the Cub or White Sox games, you better plan on going to the park, or hope its on WGN.
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of the pool. It was dissapointingly small. The hot tub was extremely small. It was also very warm in the room. There was an outside patio to go on to, but for some reason, it was locked during my stay. The pool and fitness room, which was extremely nice, were located on the top, 27th floor. The fitness room had everything you need it looked like (i didn't have time to use it). There were TV's built into each running machine.
The morning breakfast is pretty good. They have pretty much everything you would want. There is cereal, muffins, fruit, sausage and egg patties, pastries, yogurts, make your own waffles (very good) and a few juices. Its not the best but it gets the job done. If you are daring, you could try to sneak over to the Ressidnce inn and get their breakfast (looked a little bit better).
Great hotel and I would definitely stay here again.
