I stayed at the Avenue Hotel for a reunion the end of June. It was a busy weekend in Chicago and the hotel seemed to be hopping. I had a Junior Suite, which is actually an ADA room and there were only a few minor issues with the room. There was no hairdryer in the room, we had to call downstairs and one of the lights in the bathroom was out, but quickly replaced.
The issues we found were the excessively long wait for the elevator. No matter when we were trying to catch the elevator it appeared as though only one was actually running and would be packed if it stopped on our floor. The other issue was the misleading nature of the booking. We booked on the hotels website because they were offering better package deals. However, their confirmation appears as though the credit card had been charged for full payment while the reality is it is merely a recognition of reservation. The full charge is due at check-out, which is fine, but they need to clear up the misleading communication.
