This zoo is a gem in the middle of the city. What a nice way to spend the afternoon. Not much for teens to do but everyone else seemed to enjoy it.

We traveled over 4 hours to come to the Lincoln Park zoo; it was well worth our time. We have 2 children ages 3 and 6 this was the reason we came to the zoo. Our children had a blast. There are so many different type of animals at this zoo, you can spend hours here and not get bored. First of all the zoo is free to get in, that was awesome, it gives you extra money to spend on food and other things at the zoo. You do have to pay for parking but that was fine with us, the parking is very cheap if you stay at the zoo between 1-3 hours the parking fee is only $14.00.

You don’t have to worry about where to eat lunch while you are at the zoo because they have plenty of different restaurants just pick your choice of food.

Over all this zoo was very nice for our family and I will return again in the future.

I was a bit worried about this Zoo as it had some mixed reviews but as an animal lover I need not have worried. First of all, it's free which is amazing. The animals seem well looked after and content and the staff are helpful and informative. Go and see the gorillas - it will be an experience of a lifetime. But the reptile house and the rainforest walkways are great too. It's really peaceful and in a wonderful park setting. Great for all ages.

Overall, this was a very nice zoo. I'm sure the free admission is a big draw for most. (you'll still pay for parking though, if you drive)

We enjoyed our visit in Oct. 2006, though it was crowded with lots of noisy children groups. Hey, zoos are good for kids, but could you keep them from screaming constantly at the animals and climbing all over everything?

Most of the big cats were confined inside and were clearly unhappy and stressed. Did NOT like the cat house. Get them outside.

Most of the exhibits were nice and the zoo is BIG. The map isn't entirely helpful.
