My son and I paid only $79 through Hotwire; so, it was a pretty good value. I thought the place was interesting; given they took great pains to retain the historical character of the building. The room was small but clean. They really kill you with the extras here, though. No coffee maker--no Wi-Fi- (well, for a price.) Parking is outrageous. Location is great, but I wouln't pay more than 100 bucks to stay here.

When I called the hotel I was told that parking is included in the price of the room. Not so when I arrived with my car. I could have taken public transportation and saved my self $51 per day parking charge.
The only hotel in the USA that has no coffee maker in the room so that if you want coffee when you wake up you have to buy it at the Starbucks franchise in the hotel! What an obvious rip off!!

Ideally located just off Michigan Ave., I could walk to where I needed to go. The hotel is grand in every way, with great decor and ambiance. My room was well-appointed, clean, and the beds comfortable. Excellent soundproofing done with the renovations. I work in hotel management for a living, so I looked for everything I look for when I when I'm on the job. Kudos to two staff members, the Iranian gentleman at the front desk who was very knowledgeable about the area and gave me great directions, even at 1 in the morning, and the valet supervisor during the 1st shift on 06/22. Good service. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others, and I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here 4 nights. My husband and I got a King as requested. We paid 25.00 for early check in, but only on one of our 2 rooms. My son was in a room next to us. We had noise problems one night when the guest on the other side of us had the TV on most of the evening and again from 6 am until 8am. I can see where noise could be a big problem here, but we paid 80.00 a night and the location was terrific, the rooms clean, beds comfortable. We were able to spend 5 days exploring Chicago w/o a car or taxi the entire visit.
