We stay in Chicago every year at the Hilton for the St Paddys Day Parade. This year we went on a limb to stay at the Blake because it was half the price. We were thrilled with this boutique hotel. The location was great (1.5 blks from the CTA blue line, which if you are coming from O'Hare is ideal). 3 blks from Michigan Ave and had several stores, restaurants, and coffeeshops in the area for quick pick-ups. The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. You could tell the hotel tried to provide special extras to make your stay more memorable. They also provided a basic continental breakfast, which was great. We did not go into the bar or restaurant but they looked lovely. This hotel also had free access to the work out area and free WiFi, all of which the Hilton do not provide. This is now our new favorite hotel, for our get-aways from the kids!!!

We spend four nights at the Blake. The location is very convenient: near the blue train and close to the Art institute. The room was clean, pleasant and quiet. We didn't try the breakfast but it looked OK. Overall an nice stay at the hotel Blake.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Blake last week and had a splendid time! The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed, the beds are comfy and we had a great view of the Harold Washington Library. Hotel Blake is now serving a complimentary continental breakfast...most appreciated!
Great location, close to the "L" and subway and in walking distance of the Art Institute, Cultural Center, Buddy Guy's and theaters. It was our first time in Chicago and we look forward to returning...and staying at the Hotel Blake!

My girlfriend and I had decided on a weekend getaway and picked the Blake Hotel because of the price and the location. We were blown away by the service, friendly employees and excellant location. Only located a mile or two from the Sears tower, Amtrak and Museum Campus, we found it extremely easy to navigate our way around town. We were only a few minute cab ride from restaurants north of us, or bars anywhere in the city. The room was clean and modern and didn't worry about being bothered by any staff. When we had questions regarding locations, the staff assisted us with maps and the door man hailed cabs and directed us to different places around the city. I would go back in a heart beat. I would also recommend the city pass, for only $59 you can go to 5 spots around the city. We went to the Shedd Aquarium, The Sears & the Field Museum. The pass is good until May, so you can keep the vouchers for another day. It also allows you to skip the lines and see shows that normally cost extra while your there.
