I found a bargain deal on this hotel on Expedia (?) and from the reviews I had read on here (Tripadvisor) I wasn’t expecting very much for my money. The free wireless and my own bathroom where the main reasons I had booked here. My room was large, as was the bathroom. On the ninth floor of the building. Yes, the furnishings were bland and dated, but that was okay with me. What really bugged me though was the noise; the constant noise. On the first night I just assumed that it was the wind and that I heard it more because I was on the top floor – and thought nothing more of it. I am a light sleeper at the best of times and usually sleep wearing earplugs. I had to keep the earplugs in whenever I was in my room and not watching television. The noise drove me insane. I don’t know what it was – probably an old fashioned antiquated ventilation system. The noise really threatened to ruin my time there. On another note, the maid took off with one of my tshirts and some of my underwear – and didn’t return them. Would I stay here again? Perhaps… but only for less than £50 a night.

I was sceduled to stay at the Best Western Grant Park for two nights during a convention this week.  I had book a good price thru Orbitz, and thought the location was good for McCormack Place.Check in went good, the desk staff was very curious, the room was a little dated, but clean and warm.  I was very satisfied.Soon after arrival I found a lack of water pressure, which soon turned into no water at all.  The management was sorry and hoped water would soon be resumed. After an hour I requested the Best Western move me to a hotel with running water.

The manager was very accommodating. They arranged for a room at the Whitehall Hotel and even paid my cab fair to get there. The White Hall is a sister hall located in the heart of Downtown, and was actually a big up grade. All for the original good price.

With this professional service, I will not hesitate to stay at either
the Best Western Grant Park or White Hall in the future.

Have stayed here in past after Bears nite games as the location is convenient and the price is low. Never had a problem though would have rated it just "okay". The last time I spent the nite is the last time I will stay. A man was on the loose in the hall, yelling and banging aggressively on doors. I called the front desk and was told that I was the second complaint and that they needed one more complaint to take action as the hotel had a "three complaint" policy. Did not sleep all night which negated the reason for even being there. I live about an hour away and should have made the drive. I wrote two letters when I got home, one to corporate Best Western and one to the local facility. Got a call from the local customer service saying that I must have misunderstood the policy and the front desk did not say what I heard. Got an email from corporate reiterating the response I got from the local unit and offering a gift card for 25$ to be used.... at Best Western. There is a very nice Hyatt down the street as well as a myriad of other hotels. I will be spending the extra money to stay at one of them in 2009.

We got a good deal on this hotel through Priceline, and stayed here for four nights. It's a fairly basic hotel and the decor is old school, but it is very close to the Roosevelt station, and it's only a 15 minute walk to the heart of the Loop and Millenium Park. We also really liked the free internet in the room.

Our room was on the 4th floor and had no real view to speak of. One annoying problem we encountered was on the first day there, we returned to our room at 5:15pm to find it still hadn't been cleaned. Apparently the cleaner just skipped it, but it was a little annoying.

If you do stay here, be sure to have breakfast or brunch at Yolk which is basically next door. Their Chicken Fajita Omlette is not to be missed.

All in all, the Best Western is a fine choice if you're watching your pennies in Chicago, but if you can afford better, then do it.

We were five students who booked a room at the Grant Park. Overall, we had a good experience.
Pluses: Clean, helpful staff, convenient location on the edge of the Loop, not far from the McCormick Convention Center and close to the El.
Minuses: Make sure your suite really has a fold-out couch. Ours did not, and we weren't allowed a roll-a-bed (Chicago law?), so one of us bunked on the couch. The bathroom did not have a sink separate from the toilet/shower, which is a problem when you have five women in a room.
Warning: The restaurant next door makes hideously awful cocktails so be forewarned!
The price was excellent because we booked well in advance, so overall, I recommend it.
