Tons of stuff to see here - definitely devote a whole day to this museum! Lots of neat, modern and interactive science and technology related exhibits. The U505 sub was extremely interesting and definitely worth spending some extra time there. Take your time and check out all this place has to offer!

Good museum and very interesting. I still love the fairy castle--my favorite exhibit of all time. The space section is really good too--I loved reliving the Apollo series and landing on the moon.

Unless you are driving, this museum is not "minutes from downtownChicago" as advertised.

We had bought tickets online and didn't have an adequate map to get there. Be sure you don't make the same mistake we did and end up in a bad neighborhood after taking the bus for an hour and still having to walk 1.5 miles to it.

I believe the buses 6, 10, and 55 will get you there, but be sure to double check. Not everyone on the staff knows what they're talking about with the transportation system to and from the museum, since we were sent in the wrong direction.

The museum itself is great, especially for kids, which is why I want people to be sure they know how to get there, because you would not want to go through what we did with your children in tow.

It has always been my favorite museum since I was a kid and now my kids enjoy it. By now some of the exhibits on the upper floors are showing their age, but it looks like major revisions are in the works. The special traveling exhibits keep the musem fresh, but the U-505, coal mine, train story, and Idea factory are always stops with the family.

It is away from the loop, which does require a little work to get to by bus or car. Nice parking garage and cost is not bad for Chicago.

Yes the time around Christmas Around the World the museum will be very crowded! Most other times of the year it will not be bad.
