I love zoos. I was excited to go and see the animals at this free zoo. I didn't expect anything grand and over the top since it is free, but I did expect to see animals in the exhibits! Many of the exhibits didn't have animals (maybe they were inside?) Quite a few of the ones that did had a zookeeper note in front of it explaining why an animal was missing hair, had a tongue hanging out, etc. Then there was a camel with a collapsed hump. I have never seen that before and that exhibit did not have a zookeeper note. Odd.

I found this zoo to be quite disappointing. Hopefully it was just a bad day for a visit and the animals are happy and healthy (and hopefully someone checks on that camel).

Visiting over Memorial day weekend we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It is awesome. What can I say. The zoo was busy for a Saturday but it did not seem busy if you know what I mean. The exhibits were clean and very nice and educatioal. Been to many zoos this is one of the best in America. A must see if in Chicago and love to see zoos. would definately go again.

“One of the Best Parks in the Nation”

Lincoln Park is one of the best parks in the nation, especially when you add in the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Lake Michigan shoreline. There is just so much to do (driving range, beaches, walking paths, bike paths, free zoo, restaurant, plenty of places to sit in the shade), great views, and it is literally surrounded on three sides by great residential neighborhoods. It’s one of the only parks I have experienced where I would actually go there to spend the better part of the day and just enjoy the park.
