We took the free trolley to The Navy Pier. It is one of Chicago's most
-visited tourist attraction. Admission is free & there is a lot to see & do there. There is a giant Ferris wheel ($5 ride), a carousel ($4 ride) & other rides. There is an Imax Theatre, a Stained Glass Museum, Chicago Children's Museum, fireworks every Fri & Sat & many sightseeing boats: The Tall Ship Windy, Seadog, or water taxi's.
There are also dinner cruises on the Spirit of Chicago, The Odyssey or Mystic Blue Cruises. There are many restaurants such as The Billy Goat Tavern, Bubba Gump, Charlie's Ale House, Capi's Italian Kitchen, Haagen-Dazs, Joe's Be-Bop Cafe or Riva/Riva Cafe. There is also a Food Court that includes American Dog, Ben & Jerry's, Carnelli's Deli, Chicago Cookie Shop, Connie's Pizza, Greek Delight, King Wah Express, Popcorn Palace & Candy Emporium, Starbuck's & Twisted Lizard.
There are many shops selling everything from apparel & accessories, to souvenirs, gifts & collectibles, toys & games. You can also rent bikes & skates or even go on a Segway Tour. There is enough to keep you & the kids busy for the entire day in a nice atmosphere.
