Navy Pier is easily accesible on foot, but wow, there were so many people! It's very family friendly with lots of fun eating places and rides and stuff, but I had already eaten and wasn't interested in games and rides. My main objectives were to get a fun souvenir and to enjoy some nice scenery. There was a fun magnet store inside the bland indoor mall, but it was difficult to enjoy the surroundings with all the people there. Kids will really enjoy the fun atmosphere, but it's definitely more busy than relaxing at the Navy Pier.

Navy Pier is a fun place to ride some nice rides, enjoy some pretty scenery, and catch a great boat ride! Eat before or after your visit, the restaurants are not the best! The ferris wheel is so much fun and offers a great view of the city! The Shoreline Sightseeing Tour is enjoyable and offers a great photo opportunity. We enjoyed our visit very, very much. Don't eat at Bubba Gump...it's a tourist trap! Overall, a don't miss stop on a Chicago visit!

We were there the beginning of October and the weather was great . The most outstanding part of our visit was the FREE stained galss exhibit . There were many works by Tiffany.
They could easily have charged for this exhibit and it still would have been a good deal.

We took the free trolley to The Navy Pier. It is one of Chicago's most
-visited tourist attraction. Admission is free & there is a lot to see & do there. There is a giant Ferris wheel ($5 ride), a carousel ($4 ride) & other rides. There is an Imax Theatre, a Stained Glass Museum, Chicago Children's Museum, fireworks every Fri & Sat & many sightseeing boats: The Tall Ship Windy, Seadog, or water taxi's.

There are also dinner cruises on the Spirit of Chicago, The Odyssey or Mystic Blue Cruises. There are many restaurants such as The Billy Goat Tavern, Bubba Gump, Charlie's Ale House, Capi's Italian Kitchen, Haagen-Dazs, Joe's Be-Bop Cafe or Riva/Riva Cafe. There is also a Food Court that includes American Dog, Ben & Jerry's, Carnelli's Deli, Chicago Cookie Shop, Connie's Pizza, Greek Delight, King Wah Express, Popcorn Palace & Candy Emporium, Starbuck's & Twisted Lizard.

There are many shops selling everything from apparel & accessories, to souvenirs, gifts & collectibles, toys & games. You can also rent bikes & skates or even go on a Segway Tour. There is enough to keep you & the kids busy for the entire day in a nice atmosphere.

This used to be dismissed as "touristy" but then most people who go there are actually tourists! Nowadays it has a diverse choice of things to see and do. Many sails leave from this pier, there is an Imax theatre, endless shops, stalls and choice of foods like churros, popcorn nd ice cream. There are also bars, Joe's Bee Bop Restaurant with really good musicians, and The Museum of Stained Glass Art. You can ride the gently moving Ferris wheel and get great views of the Lake and the city, or just stroll around and admire the views fromthe Pier.
