It's a small place but the cover was only $8. We saw the Shirley Johnson Band. Absolutely incredible. The quaint venue allowed you to connect with the musicians. They could see you & talk to you. Shirley's band was made up of Kordell on drums, JR on bass, Chuck on rhythm guitar & backup vocals (great voice), Lawrence on sax, & Hiro on lead guitar on vocals. An absolute treasure of a band. This may have been our best experience over the New Year's weekend. It was without a doubt the best value. I will without a doubt go back when I'm in Chicago again.

“Only blues club in Chicago I'll go to.”

Blue Chicago is the best blues club I've ever been to in Chicago. The bands are always good, 9 times out of 10 you will get a female singer playing with the band. The staff is great as well, you always get really good service. I have no complaints with this bar, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

“Rude bouncer”

I went to Blue Chicago at about 1am with some friends. We seemed to be annoying the bouncer that charged full cover even though they closed shortly after we arrived. The bouncer was VERY RUDE. In the 15 minutes we were there I saw him:
Tell a couple that was hugging to get a room (they were not doing anything obscene).
Tell my friend to get her feet off the barstool, she was the only one sitting at the bar, and then he sat on a stool and put his feet up.
Then some people went there in a cab and he turned them down even though the band was still playing.
The band was great, but I will never go back because of the rudeness .
