Stayed for 6 nights in April. Features include big, clean rooms with comfy beds. Very good bathroom and shower. Very elegant inside and out. Very good location, 1-2 blocks from bus routes. Breakfast was the highlight for this trip (really good omelette's). Dominick's located across the street, Walgreen's and wine store behind the hotel. Need to improve: remote control did not work and was never replaced (complaint submitted on day of arrival), and the sofa bed was truly designed for small kids (no adults should be allowed to sleep there). Otherwise, an excellent option for Chicago visitors.

My daughter and I went to Chicago for Easter w/e via The Cleveland/Chicago Megabus. We arrived in front of the train station on Union Avenue. We stayed at the Embassy Lakefront. The hotel was beautiful and the majority of the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, two rooms with a plasma tv in living room and a regular large one in the bedroom. We had a microwave, mini fridge, and two sinks!. The hotel gives a comlimentary breakfast in the mornings which has pancakes, bacon, sausages, omelets, eggs, fresh fruit, hashbrowns, yogurt, pastries galore, juices, coffee etc. In the evening you have complimentary 2hr drinking or you can have soft drinks instead of alcohol . There is a supermarket across the street that has everything including your CTA bus passes. You are in walking distance to Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile and about fifteen minutes to the Lincoln Zoo. This hotel puts you where you need to be. Has a pool, fitness room, internet, It's clean, and it's adjacent to p.J. Clarkes restaurant. The food is great!.

My 16 year old daughter and I stayed at the Embassy Suites Lakefront in Chicago for
four nights over Spring Break in April 09. What an awesome experience we had!
We arrived a little early and expected to wait to be able to get checked in but we were
assigned our room immediately. The room was perfect. I am more than picky about
cleanliness and the room was immaculate. We have stayed at several other downtown
Chicago hotels and this is by far the best and also the biggest. The other hotels we
have stayed in were tiny; the Embassy Suites is huge with a living area, bedroom (with
an amazing city view!) and bathroom. The room was equipped with a small fridge,
microwave and sink which was really nice too. The bed was heavenly with a down
comforter that was out of this world!
The doormen were always very friendly as were the front desk, the breakfast staff, the bartenders and the housekeeping staff. The free cooked to order breakfast was wonderful with many choices such as omelets, pancakes with strawberry and blueberry toppings, bacon, sausage, cereals, english muffins, bananas, oranges, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, yogurt, melon, pineapple as well as a wide variety of beverages. The happy hour was also an added bonus with free drinks from the bar from 5:30-7:30PM each night. The location of this hotel is perfect; a couple blocks east of Michigan Ave and a couple of blocks west of Navy Pier. We walked everywhere for dining, shopping and sightseeing! Every single employee at this hotel was more than willing to go out of their way to help if help was needed. There is also a Cinema right around the corner as well as a Walgreens. Across the street is a fine grocery store with anything you would need.
I am so happy we chose this hotel and can't wait to return again. I was so impressed
and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. Thanks Embassy Suites Lakefront Chicago; WAY TO GO!!

Stayed here for 3 nights in April..... and certainly would not stay here again.
Stayed at the other Embassy Suites dowtown (only a few hundred yards away) for 6 nights in February, and the difference was unreal (much better).

The staff are just about the rudest I have ever come across in a hotel...
When we arrived in our taxi from the airport, two members of staff sat and watched as we struggled through the doors with our suitcases.
We were then greeted at the front desk by the grumpiest person I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with..... and God forbid you need to phone the operator with any queries, because they are seriously not interested in answering any questions.

The nearby Embassy Suites is in a better location in my opinion, and the staff are just about as friendly and helpful as you can get. There's a good reason it's rated higher on this site.

P.S. The walls are very thin too, so if you are unlucky enough to have noisy neighbours, then good luck getting to sleep.
