After reading a lot of bad reviews on this website I was panicked about choosing this hotel, but to my surprise this hotel was great! Clean, comfortable bed, good location, very friendly staff, NO bad smell, NO cockroaches! I stayed for 7 nights. Near to train station CTA (5 to 8 min. walking), restaurants, supermarket, airport (O'Hare). This is a very nice and cheap hotel for those who wants to go as a tourist. ; )

I've read a handful of reviews on here and I think the angry people are kind of funny -- *what* are you expecting for under $50/nt on O'Hare? If you're expecting something as nice as a Holiday Inn Express, etc., you're fooling yourself. Think about it.

This place is *fine*. The sheets & towels were clean, the bed was very comfortable, the carpets were clean, the room had coffee service, an ironing board/iron, a stocked fridge ($) and an empty one. The bathroom was clean and the air conditioning/heating unit worked. I felt safe, and I felt my car was safe outside. For fifty bucks, that's all I both want and expect.

Yes - the shower will fluctuate while you're showering - be ready for that. And yes, the walls/furniture are worn. But the room itself is functional - so it's just fine. You can tell that the owners are trying to make a shabby/worn motel into something nicer. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I thought that what they've done so far has been nice, though it's clear they still have a long way to go.

We were in a room near the lobby so we had a weak internet signal. It would have been nice to have full internet in the room, no doubt. Still, at least there's some type of access in the motel.

Never used the restaurant or pool. Didn't use the shuttle either.

We did, however, walk 10 minutes to the train. We figure that we saved a nice bit of money avoiding downtown parking by using the train, so we were pleased with that. We took the train back late - arrived at the station at midnight, and we felt safe walking back to the motel (we certainly weren't the only ones who got off at that spot and walked "home" - and everyone was normal-looking; no scary people).

We chose this location because of its proximity to the train and to O'Hare. In terms of both, this can't be beat. Especially for the price.

Don't fear this place - just don't expect anything beautiful. It's functional. If you don't plan to spend time in your room, you'll be quite satisfied.

  • Liked — The location - it's proximity to transportation can't be beat
  • Disliked — Shower fluctuates. Walls are thin - definitely you want to run the fan for white noise.

Stayed in the hotel for three nights while attending a training in Chicago. Only reason I booked it is because my company wanted me to go cheaply. The hotel rooms are the type that you definitely don't want to walk around without shoes on. Ceiling in the bathroom had mold on it and had spots that the texture was coming off. This is the first time in my life that I was hesistant to stay in a hotel.

Their website leads you to believe that some of the rooms have WiFi and rooms have wired connectivity. But in reality WiFi is only available in the lobby, restaurant and restaurant. There was no method of connecting through wired means as the website specifically states. Hotel staff could use a personality and a few training sessions. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Even though it is cheap I do not feel it is worth it.

  • Liked — Shuttle
  • Disliked — The dirty feel it gave off.

Couldn't pass up the CheapTickets price for this hotel - but - yuck. It has a very odd atmosphere - as if someone is trying to spiff it up, but stopped in the middle of the project. Our room was clean enough, but not sparkling - and very shabby. Old mattress and scratchy sheets - hairdryer torn off the wall - minibar only about half-full - untrained and pretty unaccommodating stuff - lousy restaurant. "Fitness center" with four ancient cardio machines - no TV, no towels, no water.

If you do end up staying here - very, very good Thai food across the street - also decent Chicago pizza directly opposite the hotel. Close to the train - close to the airport - reasonably quiet - and felt safe. But - yuck.

  • Liked — close to airport and train
  • Disliked — shabby, not very clean, no internet access in rooms,

The hotel is not in the greatest of neighborhoods in my opinion, and drinks in the bar were expensive ($5 for a beer!). They "lost" one of our group's room reservations (we had booked three rooms)--luckily they had brought the paperwork with the confirmation #! The only close (walking distance) dinner options are Hooters, a mom & pop hot dog place across the street, or Outback Steakhouse next door. The rooms seemed clean; however, one of the rooms in our group had a nauseating stale cig smell in it. No bar of soap in any of the bathrooms--had to use the shampoo to wash hands with in our room. One of the ice machines was broken--had to walk clear across the hotel to find one that worked. Between the trains and all the traffic on the expressway next to the hotel, it was quite noisy all through the night. The restaurant in the hotel was deserted at dinnertime--didn't see any wait staff--that's why we went out to eat. Staff was pleasant at check in; however upon our return, we had to wait over an hour for our shuttle to pick us up from the airport. The person we spoke with on the phone was VERY rude, stating they had "alot" of people needing picked up that night--basically telling us to deal with it. The driver of the shuttle is a very nice guy--this wasn't his fault. The shuttle is a little worse for the wear, but it's sufficient for it's purpose. The rude lady we spoke with also wanted us to walk to the opposite end of the airport for pickup when actually, we just needed to walk about a block down to the shuttle bus pickup/dropoff area. No one told us this fact, so we had to figure it out ourselves after waiting outside for over an hour searching for our shuttle. Luckily one of the guards at the airport was helpful in pointing us in the right direction. Our flight didn't get in until approx 10:30 pm, and by the time we got our luggage and waited over an hour, it was about midnight before we got back to the hotel and our vehicle for the long 3 hour drive home that night. Won't be doing this again! Stressful end to an otherwise relaxing vacation. :-(
