“Good Room at a Reasonable Rate”

My husband and I stayed here Wed. through Sun. last week. Previous reviewers complained about the thin walls and small rooms, but we found our room to be fine for two people. Our room was right off of the elevator and the only time we heard people was through the door. I know we had a neighbor, but we never heard anything through the walls. The free cold bottled water in the hallways is a great idea. You do have to go to the basement to get ice though. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The Italian restaurant downstairs was tasty and reasonable. There is a Corner Bakery a few doors down which is great for breakfast. Booking with Hotels.com gave us a very reasonable rate for a hotel just half a block from Michigan Ave. and a few blocks from the Red and Brown lines. A very easy walk to the Art Institute and Millenium Park.

I booked this hotel in August '07 for a weekend baseball series between the Red Sox and White Sox. I was very satisfied with the amenities of the club sized room (bed and bathroom) but it was small. The only problem I had is that the walls were thin and unfortunately early Saturday morning I had to hear a couple having sexual intercourse for 30 minutes which interrupted my sleep. Other than that, this hotel is highly recommended.

“Great Value”

Club Quarters Wacker at Michigan

We booked the room for $100 on PriceLine.com. Unless you're a Club Quarters Member, PriceLine is the only way to get into this hotel.

It's right across the river from the Wrigley building with valet parking and a small on-street lot right next door if you choose to park yourself ($35 overnight).

The hotel has a business lounge with four computers with Internet so if you're coming to town for a non-business trip, you don't have to bring along your own computer.

Our room had a queen bed, a desk with a few drawers for your clothes, closet, small refrigerator with TV on top, bedside tables, lounge chair/ottoman.

The bathroom had a shower, with no tub, but who takes a bath at a hotel anyway. The sink had a large enough counter to hold all of our toiletries and the hair dryer is attached to the wall as in most hotels.

If you need an ironing board and iron, it can be found in the closet in hallway outside of the room.

My husband always needs lots of pillows so he called down to the front desk and they brought up more.

I would definitely stay here again.

Needed to stay downtown for business meetings, and found Club Quarters (usually a member-only hotel) available online at a great price. While the room was a little smaller than others I've had downtown, the location was great, the room was clean, quiet and in pristine shape, and the bar downstairs was very friendly and convenient. Great place to stay.

“Cavelike, dirty room on the cheap”

Club Quarters Wacker at Michigan

Dec 6, 2007

My room wasn't clean and there were stains/unmentionables on the comforter. The room and bathroom were miniscule (which I normally don't care about if the room is clean).

I booked through Hotwire, got a smoking room and wasn't able to switch to nonsmoking. The tables actually had burn marks in them and I had to wash all of my clothing when I got home because everything reeked of cigarette smoke from the room.

Only thing going for this place is location (although the neighborhood is dead at night) and the cheap price.

Ok if you're looking for a cheap place to crash after a night of heavy drinking, but you might not want to be there for the hangover ;)
